I've been taking meds for depression for the past 10 yrs., starting with Zoloft for some years, then Celexa, and lastly Effexor. Needed something to change, so dr. put me on Lexipro, which was a HUGE mistake. Then got prescribed to increase my Effexor to 225 mg. and add in 150 mg of generic brand of Wellbutrin XL. I was prescribed this medication after I gained 50 lbs. in a month on Celexa in hopes on not gaining anymore weight or even losing some. What a nightmare! It gave me extreme rage-filled episodes everyday and got worse if I was late taking it by only an hour. It also did nothing to treat the depression and anxiety that I was prescribed it for, if anything it made it worse. I could not eat a portion ... Show Full Comment

I used to take Wellbutrin SR and switched to Wellbutrin XL...one week to two weeks into taking the drug I received bad migraines and and uncontrollable urge to masturbate...anyone else have these side effects if so what helped?

Wellbutrin has been the only medication to help my depression personally. Other anti depressants made me feels tired and flat lined my personality so I didn't like them. Wellbutrin makes me feel "normal" again, I also have been diagnosed with ADHD, but I manage it without medication because the side effects scare me, Wellbutrin has helped with my concentration in grad school as well. ...
