It has changed my life. I can now live life, normally. I don't have those sad feelings everyday like I did before I started taking the medication. I was about to give up hope on myself and doctors, but I finally found a doctor that has helped me,after 20 years of searching. I have suffered for 20 years with this, not knowing what was wrong and thinking that no one understood me because you have to...

The Zoloft part of this medication gave me a skin crawling and itchy sensation. I had taken Prozac (other part of this med.) without incident. Together I felt extremely itchy, irritated, agitated and listless. I wound up going to a psych. triage and was told I had an allergic reaction and to stop immediately. The NP that prescribed it neglected to read my chart on Zoloft reactions.

the only symptom that I have from this is it makes me really tired. I take it at night just before I go to bed and it helps me sleep. I think that it has really helped my depression.

Like most of you I have been on nearly everything, this has truly been a wonderful drug for me. I have tons of health problems so sometimes its hard to tell what is doing what to me. I have an issue with anger and thinking the whole world is against me. I can cycle 15 times a day easy, since taking this medication it has gotten easier. I still have some irritablility sometimes severe. I have been through ECT as well so my depression isnt nearly a bad as before but he irritability is. I have found an increase in sweets to be the vice with this medication, usually a strong urge once a day and then its gone. No sickness at the begining like all the other drugs and putting me out for weeks at the begining. I never used to sleep, now I take it early and get a good 7 hours a night, for the most part. Good Luck to you all!Read More Read Less

I was in the worst depression I have ever experienced. I am part time but live-in caregiver to my elderly parents, both suffering signs of dementia at the ages of 89 and 95. I was unmotivated to get up in the mornings, and lethargic. My counselor was so concerned over my mental state she petitioned my physician. Since I was already taking 80 mgs. Prozac for years, he suggested Symbyax and dropped the Prozac to 40 mgs. The very first day I took Symbyax, I woke up ready to face the day, and have noticed a MAJOR difference in my overall outlook. I can multitask again and I am happy. It has increased my appetite ,but I have not gained weight. I am VERY satisfied with this product, and recommend it highly to anyone who feels at the end of their sanity.Read More Read Less

I have been on a zillio different meds for depression over the years but this medicine is fantastic. I have never felt this good before. I call it the 'magic pill'. The only side effect I have is restless leg syndrome. The cost is prohibitive at $10.00 per pill. I have no insurance and a small income so the Lilly Cares program provides it for me.

I am diabetic and this med almost killed me. I told my new dr (pa) that I was diabetic and had to watch it very closely. I am not overweight due to my healthy lifestyle, but am bipolar. So she gives me this rx, and I don't wake up for 22 hours. My assistant at work got worried when I didn't come to work, or answer my phones. My assistant contacted my husband( who works out of town during the week)and he rushed home to find me out cold. Never taking it again, flushed it down the toliet and found a new doctor.Read More Read Less

I took this drug for a week for my psychotic episodes and anxiety. I wasn't on it for more than a week so I didn't get to see the benefits before I got off of it. I got off of it because I've always been skinny and I'm never hungry. On this medication I had a seemingly insatiable appetite. I usually take forever to eat; on Symbyax I was struggling to slow down to a human pace. I couldn't think about anything but food! Needless to say I'm no longer on this pill.

I went to the Dr. and told him I was having female problems (bleeding and low energy) my insurance co. refuses to pay for a much needed hysterctomy until March 2010. My obgyn has been giving me depo shots and still no end to my suffering. My family Dr. did alot of blood work. He decided to change my antidepressant med. from celexa to a new drug called symbyax. I took it for 2 nights and sleept great. The only problem is that I feel like I am in a fog and can't get alert until aroun noon. I cannot function on this. I am back to square one. I guess he decided since the celexa was not working, why I don't know he puts me on symbyax. Now I am at a stand still. Any advise on what to do?Read More Read Less

I have been on 3/25 for 6 weeks and was just upped to 6/25 this past week. I love this medication. I'm easy going now and not all " well what if" and I want to leave my house and I don't think about the risks of other people driving. I'm still learning to deal with people in general and I have a small anxiety still towards large crowds. but overall this medicine is WONDERFUL! I haven't gained any weight at all!!!! My Dr. was super pleased with that. I don't really crave sweets though my appetite has stayed the same. I don't have the depression, more so the mania my brain never stops going so this med really really helps and I noticed a GREAT difference within the first week!I can't believe some people are paying $300+ for this meds...it only cost me $25 a month. Best of luck to all trying this medication. I think its fantastic!Read More Read Less

I have post traumatic stress disorder and severe anxiety. I started taking this medicine two weeks ago. I was on pristiq for about 6 months and then it quit working. Had to get off of that and go through terrible withdrawl. Now Im on Symbyax and the only side effect that I don't care for is the increased appetite. I have been eating everything in site since I have been on it. I also have been having a hard time waking up in the morming. Brain zaps here and there.

I have taken all the antidepressant drugs out there it seems. For years. This made a complete difference in 3 days. I actually feel quite good. Taken it now for 3 wks and I am amazed. I have been exercizing like crazy, in that I have been very lucky and have never had a weight problem, and I sure do not want one now. The only problem for me is the cost, 325.00 even though I have good med. insurance, they cover no mental health at all.
