It has changed my life. I can now live life, normally. I don't have those sad feelings everyday like I did before I started taking the medication. I was about to give up hope on myself and doctors, but I finally found a doctor that has helped me,after 20 years of searching. I have suffered for 20 years with this, not knowing what was wrong and thinking that no one understood me because you have to...

The Zoloft part of this medication gave me a skin crawling and itchy sensation. I had taken Prozac (other part of this med.) without incident. Together I felt extremely itchy, irritated, agitated and listless. I wound up going to a psych. triage and was told I had an allergic reaction and to stop immediately. The NP that prescribed it neglected to read my chart on Zoloft reactions.

I have been on this medication for about a year now. It really does help with the depression, and the mood swings, but does very little for my anxiety. I am so glad that I have great Insurance to cover the cost of this medication. Without it, It would cost me about 800 bucks a month.

I have been on this medication for a little over two months for bipolar depression. It has really worked with controlling the mood swings and my depression. But I am not happy with the weight gain... I have never had a problem wit my weight till I started this med. But sense starting it I have gained about 25 lbs in two months.

I have rapid cycle bipolar disorder. I have been taking the 6/50mg and it seems to help a little but not to the extent I need it to. I am going to up the dose and see what happens. I have been on a little of everything and this medication did not make me sick like the others or seem to make me eat as much as most other meds for bipolar. I am a very rapid cycler and have had ECT with success. I don't have long periods of depression as before but do have alot of irratability and anger. I am hoping that the increase in symbyax will help resolve these issues without having to add other medications.Read More Read Less

I take 6mg/25mg 3 hrs before bedtime and it helps me sleep at night. At first it helped keep my mood swings under control 3 months or more now its not working so much... but am still sleeping well at night. Insurance wouldn't cover it so it cost about 400$ a month!! I also have went from 112 pounds to now 5-6 months later 150 pounds!

I am a 27 year old who has attempted suicide twice in my life, once at 15 years old and again at 23. I've been diagnosed with both Bipolar depression (manic depression) and Major depressive disorders. As you can imagine, I have had my fair share of roller coaster ups and downs of life and have been through countless medications. However, I am AMAZED at how well I feel/am/perform with this medication! Don't get me wrong, there are some side effects (I gained 10 pounds in the first month, I've lost 6, but still have a hunger that makes me crave the munchies real bad, and I still have a hard time getting up in the morning, but that subsides once I have my coffee), but it's way better than the other side effects from other medications. (Like with Effexor--which I was on for about 4 years--my stomach ALWAYS hurt, and the withdrawals were HORRIBLE--I don't have crazy withdrawals with this medicine like I did with Effexor). So overall, I'm very happy with this medication, I just wish I didn't have the weight gain, but it's not as bad as some others that I've read. My mood is a LOT more stabalized and I don't snap or get mad as easily as I used to. I don't cry over just anything either. I'm pretty happy overall and lead a pretty "normal" life--something that has taken YEARS to get to. I can honestly say that this is the best mental condition that I've been in since I can remember. So to all those out there who believe there is no hope out there for you or there is not any medication to help you, THERE IS STILL HOPE!!! I AM LIVING PROOF!!! Read More Read Less

My first day on Symbyax I was back to my "old self". This is the beginning of week two so it is still too early to tell...but I am going to give it a chance. I hear it may take awhile to get used to..but I have tried just about everything else. Going to start taking it earlier in the evening with dinner....sometimes it doesn't seem to help me sleep...oh well, going to stick with it though.

On day 6--very tired, irritable, hungry, and super swollen. It is taking about 2 extra hours to wake up in the am. Having bursts of energy followed by severe exhaustion. Don't know if this is gonna work out for me. I've taken everything else so I guess its gonna be back to the depression for me :(

I can't really rate this med yet. My pristiq just quit working..and this is what the doc put me on. I took it for the first time yesterday morning and had no idea it would make me feel so drowsy and "out of it". I had a very busy day and at the end of it was so exhausted I slept for 12 hours..haven't slept that good in a very long time. I am very worried about what others sy about weight gain. I've been on anti-depressants for 12 years and have gained 90 pounds...I can't gain any more and clearly need to lose what I have gained..how will I ever do that if this med increases the appetite. obesity has become a major health risk for me. I will take today's dose in the evening...Read More Read Less

This was the best medicine I have taking in years. I was the happiest person, had energy, felt good, and even lost weight. I slept at night(which hasn't happened in years). I would recomend this drug to anyone, little spendy though. I had to stop taking it because it made my feet and ankles swell so bad my toes didn't touch the ground. Wish I could still take it havn't found anything like it since.
