Started Mircette in 1999. Was on it for many years until insurance "forced" me to go generic, so I switched to Kariva for a year, against my dr's recommendation. She mentioned that it is a low-dose hormone pill, and as a generic it can go just a little too "low," which my dr said might just be enough to end up pregnant. After a year of having break-through bleeding while on Kariva (eeks!), I th...
I went on this for birth control and to regulate my periods (which are consistent, but 2 weeks long with terrible cramping). What I didn't expect was for it to make me feel like I'm going crazy and cause cramping for a month straight. My mood swings are ridiculous, there is absolutely no other explanation for them besides this pill. I react to ANYTHING. I've experienced more cystic acne around my ...

I have had no problem with this pill. I'm healthy w/ no medical conditions, so I have had no side effects. This was the 1st birth control I ever took and still on it after 5 yrs. Actually I switched to generic Kariva because of the price! Periods are regular and no headaches. Have not gained weight.

This pill gave me all the negative side effects and after 5 months they were still evident, if not worse. This pill gave me headaches, made me cranky, as well as creating worse menstrual cramps. Overall no.

My doctor put me on Mircett for the purpose of controlling hormonal migraines. I was fine when I took the estrogen/progestrin pills, but one I went off of them and took the placebo pill I had a constant, and dibilitating migraine. I would not recommend this for the purpose of treating hormonal migraines.

I did not care for this pill. I switched from ortho tri cyclen to this and experienced a 20 day long period plus increased vaginal secretions which made intercourse less pleasant. It did not work well for me.

For 3 years I suffered from migraines only during my period. I was prescribed Mircette 18 months ago, taking it every day for 3 months, then allowing a period to begin. I am now migraine free and ready to go into menopause. I may soon stop the Mircette completely. What a relief to have no more migraines. I highly recommend it!!!!!
