This was prescribed to my grandson which is 3 1/2 and weighs 24lbs. he was born at 30 weeks and has always been very small. This med was awful for him. He would sit to play and his head would fall over. He was jerky and unresponsive. Please do your research before giving this to small children

hyperness then tiredness

My cat has IMHA and lost a ton of weight. The vet recommended this drug and it has been wonderful. She was on 1/4 of a tablet but her weight is starting to drop so we are upping it to a 1/2 of a tablet. It was doing great before but I am hoping she has just built up a tolerance. It also helped her allergies (she use to pull her hair out but not anymore!) :)

The drug works as indicated. I used it for carcinoid syndrome. However, I now have worsening BPH and urinary problems so I can't take any anti-histamine. Urine flow would be blocked

I had been taking Zoloft for many years but like most SSRIs, it gave me the sweats very badly! I have been on 4mg of Cyroheptadine for 6 days and my sweats have almost vanished. It has changed my life!

does not work very well

My son is 10 & has been taking this med for 2 days & today in school he noticed himself twitching & has been ever since & it's only been 2 days. Could it be from this drug? It's 4mg.

My 3 years old daughter suffers from cystic fibrosis and is haveing a hard time gaining weight. she has been on this med for well over a year and has prevented her from having to get a feeding tube. It really increased her eating.I dont know if it makes her sleepy because she has so much enegry, but i wonder if that is why she is so cranky all the time?

This medication has really helped me. My appetite has really improved. I am always hungry. I have gained 5 lbs in a week! Besides the sleepiness, this pill is great. I rest so much better. On weekends, all I do is eat and sleep.

My daughter is 11 and was having 1 migraine a week...with blurred vision. Nothing seemed to help. Have been taking this for almost 2 months and hasn't had any bad migraines. She has still had slight headaches, though. She has gained weight, and didn't really need to. She doesn't seem to have any of the drowsiness associated with this. She takes 1 pill 4X a day. Overall, we are very satisfied with her not having any more bad migraines.

i've been taking this pills and it really works for

I am care giver to my Dad who is 82 & has Alzheimer's(& all that goes with it).He was very recently in mental health center for evaluation. They did not take the time to look at his meds(I'd sent them all). Dad was given CYPROHEPTADINE for reasons unknown to me.This med is contra-indicated for those over 60yrs! When they brought Dad home he was confused,sluggish, sleepy,moodiness, etc ... I haven't used this my self so I can't speak about some one younger using this but I DID NOT LIKE what it did to Dad!! Please use caution! Our regular pharmacist told me not to give him any more. Also,it can effect those w/glaucoma & high blood pressure in a negative way.Read More Read Less

My son was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation 1 and had decompression surgery with no relief from the headaches. His pediatric doctor put him on this to see if it would help as he was getting no relief from the neurontin. He has been on it 2 weeks with no headaches for the first time in 6 years! He is eating a little more but thats worth it if the headaches don't come back!

I am taking this to treat vertigo. No other medication (and I tried many) has worked as well. However, my appetite has increased. And I am not sure if it's directly related or not but I feel tingling all along my left arm and hand. It is somewhat painful at night.

My daughter is 8 and has been on this for 4 months now. The first month she gained 6lbs and has not gained anything since. After taking it for only 2 days her appetite greatly increased. Now she still eats better than before, but not what she should.

At first, this drug seemed to reduce the itching from my chronic hives, but after 2 weeks the hives and itching got much worse. A few hours after taking the pills, I would start itching like crazy, then hives would break out. I have had hives and severe itching for over 6 months, and so far nothing has worked except prednisone.

I am only 2 days in and I already see a big difference. I cant stop eating!!!
