A little stomach ache for a few minutes after taking the drug on an empty stomach. Eating food first eliminates that.

I have taken this medication for two days and my shoulder area is feeling a little better. I think my flare up was pretty much in full bloom before I started the meds, therefore resulting in a longer time for it to work. I will give it a couple more days and report back with my results.

It started to relieve my gout flare up with the first pill. I also noticed I was a little lightheaded or woosy. I was dosage was one pill three times a day. After the second day my gout was almost gone but noticed a strange headache almost like a bad hangover at the end of the second day. At the end of the third day when I woke up I had a full blown mirgrane that lasted all day and into the night. The headache seemed to start behind my eyes and then developed into the worst migrane I have ever experienced. I had only experienced 3 up until that point. This made my gout seem like a very minor thing. Taking one of the indomethacin seemed to help my headache. I guit taking it and my headaches quit. now when my gout flares up I only take one capsule once per day. It helps my gout and I don't get a headache. Taking it with food is also a must and drink plenty of water. I still get cramping at times but worth it to relieve my gout symptoms. I have also tried these expensive food supliments that clames to cure gout but it seems I wasted my money. Strick diet of foods low in purines seem to help the most. I also lost 20 pounds after eating the right foods. If you start eating right after the first attach you probably won't have another. I wish someone had told me that 15 years ago when I had my first after a bad sprained ankle. My doctor just gave me colchicine (sp) and it went away. I kept it on hand for future attachs. It is also a good laxitive. This worked until about 6 months ago. After two steroid packs I started with indomethacin. Read More Read Less

Extremely effective in fighting off acute gout symptoms. Note: accompanying indomethacin with a glass of water with a teaspoon of BAKING SODA in it (consult with your MD first) just as the acute symptoms begin to subside will help your body alkalize and prevent the attack from reccuring...and will also prevent future attacks. Try it, it works!!

MY EXPERIENCE WAS FINE UNTIL I WAS 35 WEEKS PREGNANT AND WENT TO MY APPOINTMENT AND THE DOC COULD NOT FIND MY DAUGHTERS' HEART BEAT. ONCE I DELIVERED HER ABOUT 3 HOURS LATER, SHE DIED BECAUSE OF A BLOOD CLOT. WHEN I READ THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS DRUG, I THINK IT WAS DUE TO IT AND MALPRACTICE OF USING IT TOO LONG DURING MY PREGNANCY AND BEING ON IT AFTER BEING 6 MTHS PREGNANT.

I was perscribed this medication less about twenty four hours ago. I am truly amasezed at how well it has worked in a such a short time. those of you who have gout can attest to severe pain it causes. Nothing worked for me. My advise, don't suffer needless pain. TRY Indomethacin. I am so very glad my physican understood my pain and knew just what to do. Thank you Dr. Susan Yeh; M.D.

Over a 20 year period I have had a dozen flair ups of gout after my really painful first experience in 1989. All have responded to this drug without side effects after taking only a couple of capsules. (The first encounter got a head start and took many more to suppress.) I am distressed that my physician will no longer write me a prescription for it.
