It's MUCH more convenient than taking Atrovent multiple times/day & I've been taking it daily since shortly after FDA approval in 2004. Very effective, long-lasting med which is helpful for COPD patients especially. Side effects are pretty mild (at least for me). It may be causing slightly elevated resting heart rate, but otherwise haven't noticed side effects as long as I take it in the mornin...
I have found that in every RX that 3 of the cap. don't work. Lot # 704577A I am on a fixed income and at the price I am paying I would like to get what I am paying for. The above is for my wife Janis Higbea I am her husband Richard Higbea

Spiriva is a great help with brochial spasms. My only complaint it that periodically some of the capsules are empty. This is an expensive drug and to find one or so empty in perhaps every other lot is ridiculous. I have called them and they are not interested in helping at all.

Started Spiiva about 2 months ago and I love it. I was tied down to my nebulizer 3-4 times a day and now i"m able to live a much more normal life again, My only problem is the cost, I'm afraid it will drive me into the "donut hole" and if it does I will have to go back to the nebulizer.

To many of the capsules are empty. With the cost of this med. you should have a better way to QC your product. I depend on it to help my breathing and it lets me down far to often. Please take this into consideration and help those of us who depend on it for a good quality of life.

my only problem with all breathing medications be it Spiriva or any other is the cost of the co-pays.But Spiriva is up there at the top of the list. I realize it cost money to produce these meds. Has anyone thought how we can afford them? insurance or not they are too expensive in the u.s.a. thanks.

My problem is not empty capsules; what happens is the whole top of the capsule breaks off when pierced, instead of a neat hole, the broken off top prevents it from vibrating when I inhale, and I can't tell if I'm getting powder. This happens at least 4-5 times per 30 day supply, sometimes more often.

Many times the capsules have been empty. Also, the drug seems to wear off in 12 or less hours.

I started Spiriva 20 days ago. I have been battling wet Macular Degeneration (AMD) for three years; starting at 56. Doctor gave me Spiriva to clear up lungs after first time having Broncitis. My understanding is AMD is generic. At this time incurable due to no understanding what triggers it. Light eye color seems to be the common denominator. A lot of inhalers seems to effect the eye pressure. Should people with the AMD gene use it? Would it excellerate AMD? Don't know yet. I do know more people in their mid late 50's are seeing my doctor for AMD; dry and wet. Most never smoked or have lung issues.Read More Read Less

I can't believe that no one has mentioned dry mouth and the many cavities it is causing. Also, for people who say they can't get any powder out of the capsule, I had the same frustrating problem, then discovered that if I keep the capsules tightly folded in the strip as I use them, then they're fine. they seem to need to be pretty air-tight. My eyesight is also deteriorating.

I too have had problems with piercing the capsules. If I hear a "crunch" sound, I know that the capsule will not spin properly, therefore I will not benefit from the medication. This last script, I "lost" seven doses! I believe at times, there is a defect in the piercing of the capsules. Please look into this matter as the medication itself does work.

Amazing that most users COMPLAIN about empty pills, cracking pills, pieces of plastic missing after piercing and YET...NO IMPROVEMENT in this Product. It is VERY EXPENSIVE and to have unusable dosages is FRAUD! My real complaint is that I feel no effect from use! Tasteless so who knows if the dose ir really administered. I plab to discontinue until a GENERIC finally comes out. Wonder if WEBMD EVER sends the comments to the manufacturer?? Lots of comments on here. How do we reply to other's comments??Read More Read Less

I have been on this drug for almost 3 mos, and it works very well. Side effects are some bloating. My biggest issue is that 3 - 5 capsules do not contain powder and this really makes me quite angry as I am paying for a month supply but not get it. I have spoken with my attorney concderning this and he feel that if there are enough folks with the same issue, to file a class action suit. From some of the reviews I gather that there are a number of folks with the same complaint. Pfizer needs to correct this deficiency immediately! Read More Read Less
