I was on Lipitor. I was having joint pain. My doctor changed me to this, which without his knowledge, I was taking only 1/2 a pill a day. Worked great. Told the doctor and he said to continue what I was doing.

I have been taking Vytorin for approximately 9 years. It works very well for me with NO side effects. Prior to the use of this medication,I was taking CRESTOR,I had to stop taking it due to muscle fatique. With the help of Vytorin, excercise and diet my total cholestrol level reading is 140. I have my liver tested every 6 months and have had ZERO problems.

I have been on Vytorin for about 5 years. It has kept my cholesterol low but I do have the aches and pains others experience. I cannot say absolutely that Vytorin is the cause because I am on a medicine for blood pressure, then the doctor prescribes a potassium to help with the side effects of the drugs. I will know if my personal diet effects it soon after my blood work is done. I hurt my shoulder in March, doctor found a hiatis hernia and my son had surgery so I started eating chocolate cake, pies, candy and everything else that would raise cholesterol. I also take a pain reliever for my shoulder.Ask your doctor for your numbers! ask questions! You and your insurance are paying for it.If you don't you may just be told "your numbers are fine" . Thanks to the internet and sites like this, we have more knowledge now.Read More Read Less

My cholesterol levels are now at satidfactory levels. However, the muscle aches in my legs, groins and shoulders are not worth it. I am 58 and walk around like a 80 year old. I am stopping this drug and going to the gym to lose 25 pounds. BTW, had the same effects with Zetia, Zorcor and Lipitor! Everyone is different--but these cholesterol lowering drugs are not for me.

MD does not tell me what the blood test results are chol/tr. When I ask for a copy of tests she does not give them to me. I am on 80 Mg of Vytorin. I now have a very weak pulse for a week. Sometimes in the morning there is barely a pulse. Also on Hyydrochlorothiazide 12.5/Diovan 80 MG and Levothyroxine .125 MCG Aciphex EC 20 MG tablets. 5 stents in heart/small ca removed from breast (3 years ago). Sleep Apnea mask and machine use. I am 71 and have been on this med two (2) months. I'll let you know more next month. MD is so busy asking me if I am taking my meds that I forget to tell here about very weak or barely a pulse. I'll tell you more next month about this drug. Thank you.Read More Read Less

I have taken 10/20 vytorin now for 2 years, lowered the LDL and HDL is staying around 55. Had cramps in my legs but started taking COQ 10 daily along with Multi vitamin, D and B12. This helped temendously.

I have been taking this drud for years. It has been very effective in lowering cholestrol and moderate reductions in triglyceride. I have notice lose of muscle strength and tireness. My dr. told me to take it every other night, but that doesn't help the muscle weakness and doesn't effective the Cholestrol or Trigly. levels.

My cholesterol went down over 80 points in 6 months... some digestive slowing, but not enough to make me want to throw out such great results. My doctor feels we have found "the magic bullet" for my cholesterol.

Works well for me. Reduced cholesterol from 200+ and triglycerides (300+) by 50% in 3 months. No significant side effects. Get lower calf muscle cramps every couple of weeks - not sure if it is related. Also take CoQ10 supplement as these drugs reduce this natural enzyme in the body. Almost all doctors miss this critical enzyme supplement with this medication.

I have been taking vytorin for about two years and dropped my cholesteral from 309 to 172 in the first three months. I then cut back to half a pill and now I am at 177. The only bad effects I have had was when I ran out of vytorin for three weeks and my blood pressure went sky high. After two weeks of taking vytorin again my blood pressure was normal again.

I have been on vytorin for just two months - all of which I have experience extreme fatigue, headaches, flu like symptoms, restlessness, depression, and very dry skin. Just recently I developed a severe kidney infection. I stopped taking the drug last week and feel so much better. I thought it was just me. Glad I found this forum.
