Took this on advice from my pharmacist at Walgreen's. She was right - it really seemed to help squelch the cough and help break up the stuff in my lungs so I could get it up an dout!

Helped to get over the common cold faster. taken at bedtime and with noon meal.

Great to treat a nasty cough, but left me so dizzy and out of it I could not function.

I have used Mucinex products in the past with good results. This time, I had been suffering from a cold for a week and nothing was helping. I purchased Mucinex DM and my congestion and irritating cough were gone in an hour (as an added bonus, my nasal congestion also cleared up). I did notice that the medicine made me extremely drowsy. This did not occur with any of my previous uses of Mucinex DM. Please make certain that you will not be driving or operating any machinery before using. It worked.Settled my cough and cleared my lungs, but made me feel very dizzy. Next time I will only take it at night.

I caught some weird bug about a year ago & completely lost my senses of taste and smell. They recovered about 70% over the last year. I caught a regular cold this time and decided to try MucinexDM. Not only did it help my symptoms - but it cleared out everything so well I can taste & smell 100% again!! THANK YOU!!!!

I had had a terrible cold with a bad cough for about a week. I was not able to get the congestion out of my chest when someone suggested that I try Mucinex. About an hour after taking the first dose I noticed a big improvement. However, the first dose was taken in the evening. I took the second dose this morning and it has made me extremely drowsy. I suggest that you see if it causes drowsiness in you before taking it and having to be somewhere. But overall I am extremely pleased with how well it works.Read More Read Less

This medicine did everything it was supposed to do. I felt better within the first hour and my coughing was relieved! The night before I took this medicine I was up 4 times during the night coughing uncontrollably. The days I took Mucinex DM I slept through the nights.

Medication made me very light headed an dizzy, but cleared up my sinus and stopped the coughing.

I found this drug to be very effective. I purchased the one used to treat irritated broncial tubes to relieve cough and to thin mucus. This worked great for me in a very short time and I feel certain kept my illness from turning into something more serious. I have not used the one which is for chest congestion so I cannont comment on how well it does or does not work; however, I think being sure that you purchase the correct medicine for your particular problem is a key factor in how well it works. After taking Mucinex, my cough actually became much worse. I took it this evening to help me control my minor and infrequent cough before trying to go to sleep. Now, after two tablets and several hours, I am coughing continuously and very uncomfortable. I sincerely wish I had purchased my usual Robitussin. I don't understand how a cough medicine could actually worsen my symptoms, and I certainly don't understand the high cost of such an ineffective product.

I used the maximum strength version of Mucinex DM. This drug made me VERY dizzy and spacey, I felt like that for the entire time I was on the drug. However, it really does help with mucus.

It worked very well, however made me extremely tired and actually caused me to vomit.
