I have had problems with pelvis pain for about 2 years no one can find anything wrong with me but I am in constant pain and alwats bleeding. My Dr. put me on 30mg morphine tabs 3 times a day and it keeps my pain level at about 3-5 I think oxycodone worked much better for me.

Please be patient and read this full post. I am a Police Captain with 25 years on the job. I've seen and inflicted and received ALOT of pain in my career. The worst was in 2007 when I avoided a vehicle while responding Lights and sirens and hit a tree head on at 60 mph.: Spinal fusion. was back to work less than a week: Hit a burm 60 mph. (So they say). Result: Severe pain. No damage to the hardware but I must have pinched a nerve. Lost feeling in left buttox and shooting pain at the site of the scar. No way to check it because I cannot have an MRI due to the plate. No relief. I finally went to the VA and was amazed. They put me on 30mg Morphine SR twice a day and Oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I am out of my wheel chair and am walking, exercising, and fully into life after 2 years in pain and being immoble. Before the VA I went to a "Pain Management Specialist" who said I would not be getting any pain meds because he wasn't going to be like Jackson's and Ledger's Dr's, and get in trouble. So far, no side effects. No euphoria. Just an absence of pain. I highly recommend it. Be carefull though. Like I said, I have alot of experience with addicts and have found alot of them dead from OD's.Read More Read Less

been on morphine off and on for over 6 years. Started on 30mg 2xday... in the end was up to 120 mgs per day. That's a big increase, and though I needed it, it seems that tolerance was a big issue. Happens pretty fast. Now on hyrdocodone w/tramodol, and going to see the doc next week to see about going back on morhpine as it's the only thing that really worked for me. Taking long term is not good, esp for teeth, but what do to? Can't live with this pain, have wanted to die from it many times. This stuff has saved my sanity, and my 11 yr old is glad of that. she was sick of seeing my crying and cringing in pain.Read More Read Less

MY DOCTOR TRANSITIONED ME ONTO AN EXTENDED RELEASE MORPHINE TABLET FROM A PAIN PATCH. I FOUND TAKING THE TABLET[PILL] MUCH EASIER THAN THE PUTTING THE PATCH ON MY UPPER ARM. THE MORPHINE TABS OFFERED ME GOOD PAIN RELIEF TAKING THE PILL EVERY 8 HOURS. I RECOMMEND MORPHINE TABS FOR CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT.

I would highly recommend this med. for chronic pain. Most opiates give you side effects or a "high" which may lead toa phycological addiction. This medicine didn't have any of the usual side effects and has really helped me deal with my neck injury. If I'm careful I can be mostly pain free with Kadian. I think it's excellent.
