I was diagnosed with stage 1 PBC in 9/2005. It took about 12 months for my numbers to return to normal but since then, all tests have been normal. My only side effect has been an upset stomach when taken without food; easily remedied by taking with meals. I take 500 mg twice a day. Once in a while I miss a dose. when starting to take the drug. I thought my hair would fall out and have all kinds of side effects... I had none...its great. I did not start taking it for 6mo b/c of fear...stay away from the internet(lol)obey your doctor(smile)
