I've been taking Vesicare (10mg) for over a year now for my OAB and the changes it has made to my lifestyle is just remarkable. Before Vesicare, it was bad. Really bad. Like going to the bathroom 10+ times a day, 3+ times a night, worrying about accidents (which I'd have at least once a week), and that doesn't even include intimacy issues (God bless my husband)... my life revolved around my bat...

Strange side effect…Yes it has worked but, I noticed my ability to have an orgasm has decreased. Even my partner says that my body is not sending him the normal signals and I seem dryer. I am use to being "multiple" and now I'm lucky to get one. I would rather pee more often than be unsatisfied. I also had the dry mouth, skin, and eyes, with acid reflux and blurry vision. I just don't think I can ...

My Gyn gave me four weeks supply of 5mg to try before filling the prescription to treat frequent urination, especially at night keeping me from sleeping well, and for leakage. I have had very minimal side effects. Only a little blurred vision at first and that has subsided, not any constipation and just a little dry mouth. I still wake up at least once during the night to urinate but not the three or more times I was previously. During the day I've noticed a decrease in having to urinate and the leakage has subsided although not totally gone. So far I'm happy I've given it a chance and will continue unless a major side effect appears.Read More Read Less

Start taking it for frequent urination. It made me want to go even more. Problem was I couldn't go. It was like I was blocked. I had to coax what little that would come out. I would the leave the bathroom feeling like I still had to urinate but I couldn't - you know, that feeling of urgency. One nite, I got up 5 times feeling like I had to urinate but I could only coax out a little. I was so tired the next morning. I'm urinating just as frequently after 3 weeks but I have the side effects as well. Its been a nightmare. I'm jumping off today because there has been no benefit. There's been so much hype about this drug and all it did was make me suffer. I wish I would of gotten off it sooner rather than hoping the symptoms would subside. All these drugs have nasty side effects - I think I'll just put up with going frequently and do those exercises that help a little. At least I'll know what I'm dealing with...Read More Read Less

been taking it for 6 weeks, noticed an immediate improvement. I can go a few hours without have to go to the bathroom, used to go several times per hour and more at night. I forgot to take it 1 night and woke up b/c of bladder spasms I forgot I used to get before starting to take it. Only downside is my hair has been thinning more frequently although it's not listed as a side effect it is the only new thing. Also pretty pricing $115 with prior authorization from insurance company that took 3 weeks and they also pay $115. Read More Read Less

It seems to help but I now have constipation so bad each time I go to move my bowels it feels like I'm trying to shit bricks. I also fart much more because of the gas that build up. I hope no one gets these side effects.

Have only been taking Vesicare 5 mg. daily for 8 days. After just 4 days I noticed swelling in my ankles and hands. Now my abdomen is so bloated I look I'm 9 months pregnant! I am even retaining fluid in my face. Other than frequent urination my health is excellent. Have stopped the medication and will contact my doctor first thing Monday morning.

Use to slow down or stop nighttime frequent urination. Still urinate as much or more. Find I need sleep and tired. Wake up multiple times during night with a dry mouth.

The urgency to urinate has not decreased even after several weeks of using this med at the 10mg dosage. In fact, it seems to have gradually increased to a point beyond where I first needed to take the drug. I have more trips to the bathroom at night. Two days ago, I had blood in the urine; it stopped after that day. There is pain on urinating. All in all, I'm not happy with this med and will contact doctor to stop using it.

I started this meds about 3 weeks ago. I am probably going to stop using it because I suffer from depression and have gone into a very deep depression for over a week. Nothing seems to make it better. I am also very anxious and can't stop eating. It really seems to help with my bladder but I still do need Poise because I still have leaks when I sneeze or if I wait too long to use the restroom. I think I will stop taking it to see what happens.

My family doctor prescribed 5 mg once a day and I noticed a slight improvement with overactive bladder symptoms. The urologist increased the dosage to 10 mg and after taking Vesicare for 5 days at the higher dosage I had heartburn, an upset stomach, a dry mouth and dry eyes, constipation and I was having trouble sleeping. I have stopped taking the medication and I'm expecting that the side effects will go away. The increased dosage did not help my bladder problems either.

I was diagnosed with MS 8 years ago and this past year has been really frustrating with bladder issues. I take 5 mg., every 12 hours. I have had a few accidents, but overall I don't have to urinate anywhere from 3-1/2 hours to the longest was 6 hours. The average time is about every 4-5 hrs. Drink a good cupful of water when taking this medicine! I can't report on side effects as anyone suffering from MS usually has a 'laundry list' of aggravating issues to contend with. In other words, I haven't any complaints so far. I read almost all reviews and I thank you for your comments! I have prayed for you all. Read More Read Less

This med worked but I was forced to quit taking this medicine after 10 days. I quit 3 weeks ago and am still severely constipated. This is more than simple constipation. My appetite is gone and can eat very little. I have taken triple daily amounts of several laxatives for the past two weeks with no relief. I think I may have a intestinal blockage and will contact my urologist tomorrow for advice. I would not recommend this medicine to anyone. The constipation is horrible.

I have sudden urge incontenence. My Doctor told me to try Vesicare. Not covered by my prescription insurance, but bless Canada, it was only $77.00 for 30 5mg tabs. It seems to be working. No dry mouth, some blurred vision (early on in treatment) that seems to have passed. Minor headache, but livable. Does it work? Yes! Do you have to also make lifestyle changes? Yes? Limit your caffeine to two cups in the AM and don't expect it to work of you are imbibing in alcohol. I got my life back..no more plotting out every bathroom in my daily routine. And no more Poise pads! Yay. I think most people who are satisfied do not post here. Thus so many negative reviews. Just saying!Read More Read Less
