Facial swelling, itching,dry mouth and stomach cramps

70 year old mail tried this (for obvious reasons) whilst travelling on the transsiberian railway. It was useless for me - no change in peeing frequency - and blood appeared in my stools after 2 weeks. Stopped taking it then, and returned to normal.

Side effect was upset stomach that disappeared in a few days.

Has less side effects than oxybutnin but does not work as well. Helped somewhat w/ frequency but not w/ urgency. Still had to run to the bathroom when felt the urge. Does not work with coffee at all.

I am also having discomfort (was) but taking this took that away too! But I had to pay a premium co-pay over $200, cause my insurance just changed and it is still going to be $95 a month. I can't afford that, can you?

Strange side effect…Yes it has worked but, I noticed my ability to have an orgasm has decreased. Even my partner says that my body is not sending him the normal signals and I seem dryer. I am use to being "multiple" and now I'm lucky to get one. I would rather pee more often than be unsatisfied. I also had the dry mouth, skin, and eyes, with acid reflux and blurry vision. I just don't think I can stay with this. I have been taking 10mg for 6 weeks.

My mother took Vesicare for over a year. She loved it. She could travel, shop and rarely had to stop for a bathroom break. I saw the bad side effects, but she liked not having to visit the bathroom so she continued taking the medicine even though she complained of dry mouth, dry eyes, dry skin, dizziness, her gums receded from the dry mouth and constipation. Mom wound up having a bowel obstruction that was so bad she was left with only 25 inches of colon after surgery and a temporary colostomy. She passed away two and a half years, 8 hospitalizations and four surgeries later, June 2015. If you have any kind of stomach problem to begin with please be careful when taking this drug. My mom went from a vibrant 165 lb woman to about 60 lbs at the time of her death. I didn't realize that she had been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 20 years before. I knew about her diverticulitis, but I know she was never cautioned about the side effects of using Vesicare. I found out through research on the internet after the first hospitalization. At 37 had several issues with needing the toilet immediately after having the children. Saw a specialist as couldnt bear it any longer, had a operation to lift all back into place!!! Alrhough this worked with the sneezing coughing etc did not remove the need urgently. Went onto vesicare in December and was practically back to normal withon 2 weeks of taking! Was warned by doctor of side effects coughing, dry mouth etc but to perservere! So glad i did! Feel like a normal 39 yr old now !!!!

Started on Vesicare in October and in March ended up in Renal Failure and Septic. Was in hospital for 7 days and don't remember the first 3

I had bladder surgery that was not effective so I was put on Vesicare. It did have an effect immediately but not totally. Within two days I had fatigue and nausea and a cough. I continued taking it because I thought I had the flu. After five days of no improvement I quit and the side effects left.

this medicine dilates your bladder and increase its capacity to store urine..but you should be cautious as holding increase volume of urine in your bladder such a way may be injurious as it will then host lots of bacteria inside it that can be lethal..esp when you are already suffering from urinary tract infection due to microbes..i always taken bactericidal with this drug..

My mother was prescribed this drug, it worked briefly and was told to double her dosage which she did , when it didn't work after a few days. It caused some damage to her brain and caused her to have dementia type problems. After being taken off the drug the dementia has disappeared and she can now walk without a cane and is much more sociable. There was never any followup done by the urologist and she became very afraid she would be locked up if she went to a Doctor to discuss it with them.With her off this med she has since returned to the same old Mom she used to be.Read More Read Less

At the encouragement of my doctor who stated that diarrhea was not a possibility since diarrhea was not a published side-effect of VESIcare, I continued taking daily doses of 5 mg for six weeks and four days then switched to a daily dose of 10 mg for two weeks and two days. Mild periodic Diarrhea had started after three weeks on 5 mg and gradually increased in frequency and severity. At the time I stopped taking VESIcare, I had exploding diarrhea for from 1 to 4 times per day for 10 of 11 days (or 9 of the 9 most recent days). And, this was AFTER my wife put me on a very bland diet of chicken soup, rice, and toast – no salads, meat, vegetables, or milk, etc, and I lost 8 pounds (152 to 144 pounds). My wife finally asked me: "how long am I going to torture myself?" Upon stopping the VESIcare, the Diarrhea immediately stopped and cleared up (w/soft stool) after 10 days. More frustrating than the diarrhea was the fact that VESIcare did NOTHING to help my diagnosed overactive bladder problem!! I believe that VESIcare should not be allowed to be marketed without a warning of possible diarrhea as a side effect!! Finally, VESIcare had a LOT of side effects for me! For the first time in years I have control of my bladder it is a great feeling

SO much better than FloMax that my urologist had me on. Not sure why, it's not even on the recommended drug list for urinary urgency. FloMax made me dizzy, very tired, foggy in the brain! All that cleared up right away when I switched to Vesicare. But now have severe dryness in mouth, skin, etc. with Vesicare. My urinary urgency is a result of brachytherapy and radiation for my prostate cancer. urgency now very manageable, no longer have that panicked feeling and don't need the empty plastic bottles in the car!Read More Read Less

I love this product! It has worked for me for 3+ years.

It was wonderful and did exactly what it said it would do. Where I was once having to keep the bathrooms in sight everywhere we went, from day one taking Vesicare oral I was back in control. It was really great! The reason I am no longer taking the medication is that the insurance said that I needed to change because they would not cover it.

I am bloated and have burning from acid reflux. I didn't have a problem with the acid reflux until I started taking Vesicare. I will have to discontiue taking it. I'm still urinating frequently.
