I refused to believe I was bi-polar until a new psych suggested I try Lamictal and I am so much better than I have ever been before. Thank God I found this doctor. Lamictal saved me from suicide; I was getting very close!

I immediately began to feel better...the next morning after taking it. I did take it at night and had to take it with food to avoid nausea, overall a great experience

The meds have helped me with alot fewer manic phases and hostility.made myself more stable. But the pills taste really bad wish they could put a coating over the pill

Lamictal has worked for me fairly well. The first 2 months I took it by itself and it made my mood swing uncontrollable but always depressed. I would begin to cry for no reason. My doctor put me back on my Celexa 20mg and I've been fine for about 2 years. I know it is working because every couple of months I decide to just stop taking all my meds! Lamictal is not the best drug for someone like me because after 5 days without it you have to start all over with 25mg a day for two weeks, 50mg..... until you get back to your level. My level is 300mg a day so it takes me 6-7 weeks to recover from my mistake. I experience mania, which I really enjoy, for a few weeks. I have also found that Lamictal and Birth Control pills do not mix. I only take the Birth Control to stop my periods. I take active pills continuouly. I do not know if they are working against pregnancy!!! Read More Read Less

I'm in my 3rd week of treatment. I had been diagnosed with anxiety and currently diagnosed with cyclothymia. I see a difference with this moood stabilizing drug. I also need to take Ativan 2mg when needed. My anxiety level is still uncontrolled.

I tried depression meds thinking thats what it was, when those didnt work I talked to my doctor asking if I could be bi-polar. She started me on this and I have never felt better about myself, life, everything, no more mood swings, well not terrible ones anyway.

I have a condition called CIDP (chronic inflammatory demylenating polyneuropathy) and my neurologist prescribed it for my leg pain. Since beginning the drug about 2 weeks ago, I have been very impressed with the results. the condition I have is an autoimmune disorder, causing some paralysis to my lower legs (below the knees).

Sudden and abrupt discontinuation of med can trigger panic/anxiety attacks. I delve back into a major depression about 2 weeks after discontinuing.
