I have recurrent sinus infections/problems, and my ENT recommended this drug for me. It breaks up phlegm, clears my sinuses, and helps me to breathe more freely through my nose. I highly recommend it.

This medicine has caused me alot of grief. I highly suggest to read all of the reviews and all of the information on this product before taking it. I failed to do that and I blacked out while driving and wrecked my car. You always hear how good Mucinex is but I can promise you that I will never take it again. I have had a severe cough with minor phlegm for the past three weeks. After speaking with my doctor, they told me to just go to CVS and purchase Mucinex D. I am now 5 hours into the 12 hour life span and I feel nervous, anxious, crazy, having trouble urinating. I guess I am one of the few who reacts badly to this medicine. In fact my pupils are so big I look like I have done cocaine. I have a enormous headache, but nothing can be done until this 'rides' out. 7 more hours to go. Think long and hard about using this. Wow. I've been having sold/sinus infection for the past three days. Finally I saw the doctor today and he prescribed Musinex D. I took two tablets at 1 pm. It's 2:45 now and I'm feeling much better. Congestion is gone. I can breath easy. Even the head-ache I was having is gone. This works!

Years ago, whenever i got a cold it ended up turning into a sinus infection or bronchitis... before this medication was made OTC, i would have to always go to the doctor who would prescribe me the exact formula that Mucinex D contains. Ever since taking this when getting a cold i have avoided bronchitis and sinus infections. The only negative side affect i have incurred is sometimes i have had trouble sleeping, but taking it earlier rather than later has helped this. I definitely recommend this product for people who are prone to sinus/upper respiratory infections or bronchitis - you'll notice the difference right away. Read More Read Less

I've been suffering from a cold for some time - this was recommended by my doctor. I can't believe how much more functional I feel! I can breathe much more clearly and don't have the pressure in my head. The only downside I experienced was a fast heartbeat.
