I was 36 years old when I found out that I have RA. I'm glad I was put on this study. I was on a drug study for this drug. And it has help me very much. But now my study is done and I cant afford to do it anymore. So Im trying to find help so I can keep getting my infusions. It is a wonderful drug because I don't hurt nomore. I hope it helps others.

I have been on Orencia for 4 months. In the pastI have been on Humira and Cimzia....both failed in time....Now I have side effects, I think, of light headness, upper chest pressure under collarbone area and extreme weakness when being active. Have had heart tests.....nothing to cause these symptoms...Can it be Orencia....Anyone have similar effects?.........Help

I had my first Orencia Infusion on July 30. There was no problem the first 24 hours. I became increasingly sick with severe flu-like symptoms. My white count at the time of the infusion was 12, (high because of a back injection I'd had one week prior). After getting sicker and sicker, I went to the ER on August 5 and my white count was 15.5. I have all-over body pain, mouth pain (but no sores) headache, and fatigue. I was given a shot in the ER and put on Keflex for 10 days. I had bad chills which went away after the shot. All other symptoms remain. I am frightened. The hospital personnel said they have never had a patient who had bad side effects. Read More Read Less

I have severe RA. Inflammation #'s off the charts. Orencia has been a lifesaver for me. My only complaints have been extreme tiredness, and VERY sensitive skin on my arms and legs. Feels like constant sunburn - never lets up. I'm not sure that it's from the Orencia, but can't imagine what else can be causing this. I find little or no info from others regarding this issue. I would certainly appreciate any feedback. Thank you. :)marie

Only been on this drug, by Injection, for two months. No change in pain levels. Have had bouts of vertigo and weakness. I also have MS and wonder if this drug is causing my ms to be worse . Prior to starting this drug the ms wasn't to un bearable.

I have been on Orencia infusion for 3 years and have had no serious side-effects as yet. Prior to Orencia I was on Enbrel for a year and Humeria for another year and had major side-effect with them. So far I am very pleased with Orencia.

BEWARE....I'm a 35 year old female who has had RA for 3years. I had my first infusion Jan 24, 2012. After my first couple of minutes into it I had a reaction my ears started itching. Then they slowed my I V down but it didn't help by the time I knew what was going on my throat was swelling shut. I had to be rushed to the ER my eyes was bloody and I had swelling on the brain. So be VERY careful not saying this will happen to you but don't think anything is little when it comes to having a reaction. The doctor said that they had never had anyone have a reaction to this drug. I started with my ears itching then hives around them then wheezing started then the bloody eyes. I'm counting my blessings and I'm so greatful for my husband and my doctor and only being a few feet away from the hospital. I was very lucky!!!!!!Read More Read Less

I have been on Orencia for just 2 months and I am finally feeling normal again. I was told that Orencia takes at least 6 weeks for it to "kick in". I used to be on Remicade but my liver enzymes (ACT & ALT) both began to spike. I was taken off Remicade as well as all pain meds and alcohol for 3 months....it was a very difficult time for me. I like that the Orencia infusions only take 30 minutes. I'm feeling even better than when I was on the Remicade. My liver enzymes have been staying normal. I'm praying that I can continue to stay on Orencia for a long time to come!Read More Read Less

I have been on this infusion for 3-1/2 yrs. and have had success; however I did get shingles and wonder if that may be a side effect. I am not on methotrexate

I was on this drug for about 15 months and it worked like a dream. I had used Humira for 6 months but I was constantly sick on it (colds/flus). Never experienced any increase in illnesses on Orencia, not to mention it restored my mobility and gave me back my life. Unfortunately, upon my 15th administration of Orencia I had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock!) and discontinued use. It has been hell without it and I'm scared to try anything else now but am considering Simponi because I don't want to live like this.Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed with RA at 21. Have been on Orencia for 3 years. It seemed to help initially, but it apparently does not stop further deteriation as advertised. I have a sore that has not healed in 3 years. Also had a rheumatoid nodule removed a year ago that still hasn't healed. I'm unable to fight infection as Orencia has lowered immune system. I'm presently on heavy duty antibiotics. Also have high blood pressure for first time ever. For the last year or so, treatments have not curbed pain. However, it's hard to know if RA would be worse without Orencia. My feet are way worse now than when I started treatment. Have taken prednisone for many years and also methotrexate. Now prescription pain pills are my only relief. What to do now? God only knows!Read More Read Less

I have had arthritis since I was 5 and I'm now 38. Have been on more drugs than I can remember taking. I took Orencia for 6 months. And developed cold/ flu like symt. After seeing my family dr and rhem. they treated me for broncthis. After 4 months of none stop coughing and be sick I went to the hospital. Was admitted and was diganosed with COPD and Asthma. And before the infusion I was healthly other than my RA. So please be careful if you plan on taking this medicine. If anyone else has the same smythoms I would like to know. I have had RA for ten years. Was on Enbrel for about 7 years and did well but had to switch to Orencia due to severe reactions. The Orencia was much slower to work than the Enbrel- and during the first year or so I developed nodules but now they're getting much better. I do seem to have more of a problem with infections including a methotrexate mouth ulcer that became abcessed, more tooth cavities and an infected IV site. But the Orencia is finally working as well as the Enbrel (humira and remicade did not work at all for me).Read More Read Less

I started Orencia 2 months ago and have a headache all the time, sore throat, sinus pain, tired, don't quite feel myself all the time. I think I will stop the treatments. My RA is not serious except for knee pain. Depemedrol shot once every 4 months works for me. think I will continue this treatment until it does not work. Have tried all the pill meds and nothing seems to work really well.
