I WAS ON LOESTRIN FOR ABOUT 5-10 YRS I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL FOR AN ALLERGIC REACTION FROM AN ANTIBIOTIC HAD SEVERE ABDOMINAL PAIN.HOSPITAL DID A CSCAN A FOUND A TUMOR IN MY KIDNEY WHICH THEN I HAD TO HAVE AN OPERATION ON MY RT KIDNEY WHICH THEY REMOVE 20% OF. I've been taking Loestrin for 2 and a half mons now. The first week, I turned into a monster towards my boyfriend and I have trouble controlling my mood swings all the time. I feel like Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde sometimes. I'm not fun to be around. My OB says my mood swings are not related, but after reading all the postings, I disagree. I've gained 8 lbs in 2 months! And now have acne!! =( Effective in not getting pregnant, however is not worth the extra pounds or acne!

I've been on this for over 2 years now. Once I started this pill, I did not have a period - ever. And I still do not to this day. My OB took me off of this pill for 2 months and put me on another just to make sure I DID have a cycle - I did start both months so she gave me the choice of which pill I wanted to be on - I chose Loestrin but I've also put on alot of weight and I'm pretty s ... I went on this medication about 1 1/2 years ago, after being on Seasonale. I absolutely love this med. This is the first birth control I have been on that I do not get break-through bleeding. I don't get the horrific period I used to get. I usually only spot for a day.
