My Army Doctors all have panic attacks when I tell them I am using Afrin, but other Rx nasal sprays (cortico-steroids and anti-histamines)have almost no effect, except side effects. I have asked them why Afrin is so bad, but the ONLY side effect is that you may become dependent on it. Being that I have literally been congested my entire life without pause, Afrin is a lifesaver! One could argue tha...

I’ve been using this product for a while now but this last night it reacted differently. Burned the living crap out of my throat it’s been 12+ hours and still in tremendous pain. Definitely calling the company. This needs to be off the shelves. Easily one of the worst days I’ve ever had. I’ve never read worse reviews on a product in my life. DO NOT TAKE. BEWARE. My heart goes out to all those suff...

I buy a generic from the 99cent store. It is a life saver! I can breathe! I can get sleep and then have an active, productive day without fatigue from lack of sleep. I love it!

NEVER use this product. I purchased this today for nasal congestion, after I did two squirts in each nostril, I knew something was wrong. My nose and throat started to feel like it was on FIRE. When I sniffed up the solution I swallowed some and WOW. I was in so much pain that I caused myself to have a panic attack and passed out because I was alone at my house. Almost went to the ER butt husband came home and cared for me. 3 hours later and my nose and throat still burn and I am so uncomfortable, nothing has relieved the pain. Took some Benedryl and am hoping to just sleep through all this. How is this stuff even legal?! :”(Read More Read Less

Oxymetazoline is the same as Afrin and any other 12 Hour nasal spray. It works for me, but the addiction factor kicks in quickly, and then I need it every day. The only solution is when I use the 'real' Sudafed which is now behind the counter (At least in CT), as it reduces the swelling and allows me to breath.

This spray caused me extreme pain. I tried everything to get it out because of the burning. Like another user I wanted to go to the ER but toughed it out. It was like having a powerful pepper in your nose and did little to help my congestion.

This product was effective, meaning it cleared my nasal passages, BUT the pain I experienced using it was NOT WORTH ANY MINUTE of the "relief." There was no actual relief. Seconds after I sniffed the recommended dose, my ears, nose, and throat started burning to the point where I considered the ER. I was in pain to the point of tears and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I immediately threw the brand new box in the garbage and will never be using the product again. BEWARE. Especially if you aren't used to using nasal sprays.Read More Read Less

The pain I experienced from using this product was sheer torture. My nasal cavity, the top of my head, face, temple, back of my neck were all on fire at the same time. The pain was excruciating. There are actually not enough words relating to pain to explain what I went through. Used this medication at 7:00 pm, at 3:30 am I was still in pain after taking several extra strength acetaminophens and 2 opioids. I literally had to rub my face and neck with aspercreme and use a swab to rub the roof of my mouth with orajel to experience the start of calm down. Time on medication should be changed. The affects of the drug was immediate after using the fist time. Why is this medication not banned.Read More Read Less

Nothing would work to clear up my sinus pressure and stuffed nose. I used one spray of this in each nostril and waited a few minutes...I could breathe for 6 hours! It was amazing and I got the sleep I desperately needed.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS PRODUCT. It was three hours of burning agony like I've never experienced. It only lasted 3 hours because I took medicine to knock me out. Everything was on fire in my head. Behind my eyes, my ears, my nose and my throat. I've used nose sprays before and they usually sting at first but this was like nothing I have ever experienced. I thought about going to the ER. So again. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

I have used Afrin for years and bought this off brand nasal spray with oxymetazoline. I have not had this much pain since childbirth 17 years ago! Not kidding! Terrible, unrelenting burning and then a headache that went on for hours. Considered going to the ER. DO NOT USE this product!

I usually use afrin and recebtly someone else bought Rexall instead of afrin for me. It burning ?? and stinging for hours now. I had to call poison control to find out what was best too flush it out because it burt so bad i considered the ER. Rexall is horrible and i will be calling the company when this horrible experience subsides.

EXTREME pain in my throat and burning in my nose. It felt like I had just sniffed acid, and the pain didn't go away for 2 hours. Seriously, I would experience extreme sinus/nasal drip page than deal with this product ever again. I'm throwing it out and telling everyone I know not to use it. Miserable.

I usually use Afrin. I used Rexall for the first time today and I ended up having to go to Urgent care. Immediate Migraine. Intense burning throughout sinuses that three hours, three shots and two prescription pills later, still makes it hurt to breathe. Profuse nasal drainage and eye watering. Pressure behind the eyes and at the base of the skull.

Hands down the best nasal spray I've used. I have allergies and deal with the public so I tend to get colds a lot. This clears things up and makes it possible to breathe again. Yes it does burn and sting for a few minutes (at worst 2-3), if its really bad you probably have sinus infection and need to see a doctor. DON'T push the tip all the way into your nose, just enough to spray the nose and not go straight into your throat which will hurt. I've used this for years and don't even keep anything else in the house anymore. Read More Read Less

I have had several occasion where I have had a stuffy nose when I lay down at night so every once in a while I have to use a nose spray. I usually use Afrin but I bought a off brand Rexall from General Dollar store. I am now in so much pain from burning and stinging. It is running all down my throat and making me hurt so bad I want to sniff a cup of water.

I take the Mucinex version of this medicine. I use it only at night when I have a bad cold and can't breathe out of my nose. It is a life saver in helping me sleep. (Who likes to breathe out of their mouth when they are trying to sleep?) It says to use it for only 3 days but my colds usually last longer than that. Since I only use it once a day I figure 6 days is ok. I also use only one spray per nostril instead of 2-3 when my cold symptoms are subsiding. To me this is a miracle drug for a head cold.Read More Read Less
