My Army Doctors all have panic attacks when I tell them I am using Afrin, but other Rx nasal sprays (cortico-steroids and anti-histamines)have almost no effect, except side effects. I have asked them why Afrin is so bad, but the ONLY side effect is that you may become dependent on it. Being that I have literally been congested my entire life without pause, Afrin is a lifesaver! I’ve been using this product for a while now but this last night it reacted differently. Burned the living crap out of my throat it’s been 12+ hours and still in tremendous pain. Definitely calling the company. This needs to be off the shelves. Easily one of the worst days I’ve ever had. I’ve never read worse reviews on a product in my life. DO NOT TAKE. BEWARE. My heart goes out to all those suff...

I have been using the Sudafed Brand of this product and it works unbelievably well. It lasts for 10-12 hours, but I do find myself using it probably more often than recommended. I think that is due to the fact that it works so well, almost instantly, so anytime I am slightly congested, I do use it.

I am a 38yr old female who lives for this medications effectiveness. I've used it of and on for several years when I need relief from seasonal allergies or stuffiness and congestion from the common cold. I use the Rite Aid brand and it has been a life saver to me and my entire family. I have never had a problem with its lasting effects nor have I had an addiction to it. It usually clears my symptoms within 5-6 days with no rebound congestion EVER. Every 12 hrs is the dosage and like clock work its effectiveness never let's me down. Sometimes it lasts a little longer than 12 hrs. Thank God for the makers of this drug. It has truly made my family's ability to cope with our allergies much easier. Read More Read Less

If you suffer from chronic sinusitis it's the best thing in the world.Too bad you can only use it for three days! Someone needs to find something that works as well long term.Nasal steroids cost too much and does not do as much as this drug.Just my opinion I might be wrong!

My allergies are so bad during the summer that I have the use this drug frequently. You won't technically get addicted to it so much as become dependent upon it to breathe normally; especially while laying down. Be very cautious if you decide to use this drug, it WILL work for you, but the fact that it works so well, makes people want to use it more than recommended. Facial congestion and headache are the two most plagueing illnesses of mankind. I understand the desire for relief, but the possibillity of dependence on this medicine is very high. Be careful.Read More Read Less

Beware of this drug. I became addicted to Kirkland brand (Costco) nasal spray. I started using it just to relieve a stuffy nose during a cold, but just kept on using it because it worked so well. However, after a few months, I couldnt breath through my nose without it. I would go through a 1 ounce spray bottle every 3-5 days! I finally gave in and saw a doctor, and I was prescribed prednisone, clarithromycin, and allegra D to help me get off. After 5 days of complete stuffed nose, I finally started feeling better. Just dont use this stuff. Oxymetazoline was very addictive for me, and I plan on never taking it again. Read More Read Less

My doctor suggested using this spray to ease stuffines from my sinus infection. The first time worked immediatley, but the effects did not last 10 hours, more like 4-5 hours. The second time later that first day I used it and I woke up in the middle of the night completely congested and unable to sleep for over four hours. I'm unsure if I should continue using this product as the warnings for more than twice a day & not more than three days sounds ominous considering it does not last the ten to twelve hours as promised. The third time I tried to use it on the second day one nostril was completely blocked and no vapor action was felt, thus no relief.Read More Read Less

I suffer from migraine headaches, but migraines and sinus headaches are difficult for me to differentiate, as when I get migraines, it feels like my sinuses are swollen. I have used it twice so far with what I believe to be migraine headaches which swell my sinuses, and the swellingness goes down and reduces my nausea significantly. I like tihs medicine. It works fast to get rid of my swollen sinuses and nasty nauses in 51-10 minutes. Hopefully there are no really bad side effects.
