It took me 3 nights to figure out I just needed 1/3 of the pill to sleep all night and not feel sleepy the next day. I absolutely love it. I have restless leg syndrome and ADHD so sleeping at night without meds is impossible. I just hope there are no long term effects from using it every night. Does anybody know if there are?

I've been taking medication for sleep on & off for 20 years. THEY ALL CAN BE DANGEROUS & ALL ARE ADDICTING! With that said, I would never suggest anyone taking anything for sleep for more than 3 days UNLESS under the CONSTANT (weekly) care of a seasoned sleep professional that KNOWS that all of these medications have the potential to become addictive and can be dangerous. I've literally been to ov...

I've had the best sleep in years after trying these pills. If I get up to use the bathroom (only once, not like another user reported) I can fall asleep quickly when back in bed. I have just started taking this so I hope the good results will continue.

After catching a cold a few years ago, I discovered that Tylenol Cold Nighttime put me into a deep sleep soon after taking (Nyquil keeps me up like I just drank 10 cups of coffee!). I researched the active ingredient and discovered doxylamine succinate in pill form at my local pharmacy. It works wonders - and it's super cheap too ($4 for 48 pills)! I only take 1/2 pill because I've found when taking a whole one, I am groggy the next morning. That doesn't seem to be as bad when I only take half - plus since half a pill works just as well, I get more for my money.Read More Read Less

I suffer from insomnia caused by another medication I am taking. I I had tried everything to help me fall asleep and stay asleep: Dramamine, Ambien, etc. and nothing worked. Well, this medication is a god send, I can finally get a good 5-6 hours of sleep, I'd obviously prefer. 8 but I'm not complaining! I definitely reccommend this product.

This drug doesn't help me fall asleep. But it makes me drowsy all night, which is critical. My problem used to be waking up in the middle of the night and being instantly awake. Then I'd stay awake and start obsessing about any manner of things in my life. I still wake up in the middle of the night, to use the bathroom, etc. But I wake up and I'm drowsy. I use the bathroom, come back to bed, and I fall back to sleep. It's truly amazing.

Works well. I fall asleep fast. However...I am curious if anyone else has frequent urination while using this..? It's great that I can fall asleep...But it really stinks that I have to make like 3-4 trips to the bathroom!

Using in conjunction with vitamin B6, I break the unisom tablets and take both before bed every night, when I wake up the nausea and vomiting is at a minimum, I rarely vomit, but the nausea does still linger a bit throughout the day. I know it works because when I forget to take it it's awful! Does not make me sleepy.

I am finally sleeping! My husband snores, as well as, has phantom leg pain which has him awake at night for varying lengths of time. I haven't had decent, consistent sleep in 13 years so this is just a miracle. I use 1/2 tablet which does the trick and only 3-4 times per week. I 'give it a rest' the other nights. I have noticed peri-orbital edema in the morning if I use it 3 or more times in a row. Limiting use to 'as needed' and up to 4 times/week is a good program for getting the rest I need. When I used a full tablet I experienced grogginess (which lasted most of the morning) and difficulty awakening in the morning.Read More Read Less

I started needing a sleep aid after being put on prednisone. I used benadryl-based sleep aids for awhile, but I started having weird side effects, so I switched to this one. For the first several months I only needed a quarter to 1/2 a pill. It seems to be less effective now, but taking a whole pill still works.

I takes me almost through the night (besides a walk to the bathroom) which is really nice. I have been suffering from sleep-through-insomnia since at least my early 20ies. However, the side-effect is quite large: I do have a hang-over: foggy head, very cranky, lack of energy and almost a sense of feeling as depressed, easily irritated or close to cry. I tried lower dosages, but then I don't sleep through well.

Has greatly helped with my ability to go Back to sleep after getting up to go to the bathroom..used to remain awake, staring at the darkness.. If I know I want a full night's sleep I'll take about 1/3 of a tablet...if I don't take it before going to bed and wake up in the night I just take a little "nibble" off of the end and get back to sleep and wake up with no drowsy feeling. I do not take it regularly... don't want to lose it's great effect for me. do have dreams with it ...It has helped SO much...Read More Read Less

I travel a lot to to different time zones around the World and started using this instead of Xanax (which requires a prescription in the USA). It does seem to help me fall asleep quicker. I also take Melatonin which seems to help as well. Only side effect is that I feel sluggish the next day for several hours.

I have used this drug off and on (mostly on) for sleep for many years. When I try to go off of it I get really itchy on my trunk thighs and scalp. This time after 6 days I couldn't take it any more and took 1/2 a pill last night. I plan to shave my dose down to 0.I guess the histamines are nuts after being blocked for so long? I would love to know why though.
