I am almost 40 years old and have had chronic acne since my 20's. I have tried EVERYTHING, even expensive laser procedures. Nothing worked for more than a few weeks or months. I prefer topical medications but was considering oral until my PCP finally prescrcibed this. Not only did the acne go away, but my redness, and even little bumps on my forehead disappeared, all within the first 2-3 days of a...

I've had moderate to severe persistent acne mostly concentrated on my cheeks as well as mild rosacea for over 16 years. The acne is mostly in the form of pustules and painful inflammation and more recently, I started getting on and off hormonal cystic acne on my jawline and acne on my chin. I was prescribed the clinda phosphate lotion and benzol peroxide (cream - not the gel which can be more drying) It's been almost a little over 4 weeks of gradually easing my skin into the medication and benzol. Once the lesions that were already on my cheeks started going away I've only had 2 or 3 pustules surface in my cheek area over the last couple of weeks and they disappeared a few days later, my cheeks feel smooth and all that's really left in that area is the redness/scarring of 16 years of bad acne breakouts. But on the other hand what has started happening now is I'm getting what most people would consider 'normal' breakouts - a red pimple here or there - mainly on my chin but also on my nostrils, above my mouth, and on my temple. These small red pimples seem to go away as fast as they show up as long as i stick to my regimen, it's still daunting though as my skin seems to be getting healthier on my cheeks where it was a major problem, but the much milder but abundant breakouts are now happening elsewhere. I should also note that besides the clinda lotion twice a day followed by benzol cream - both all over face, I use a non abrasive liquid exfoliant (from Aveda) every other day after the benzol has set, then maybe the most important part besides the actual medication is a mild moisturizer. I use Aveda or Clinique for sensitive skin/redness. I'm also on hormonal birth control to help manage the acne for what that's worth. So overall I think the clinda alone wouldn't do the job but when used with everything else it seems to be helping what had been my major area of concern, for now at least.Read More Read Less

To begin with, my acne wasn't too bad, but I always has at least one pimple on my face at all times. My skin was also getting some bad scars from the acne so I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed this along with minocycline. It took a few weeks before I even noticed a result at all, but after about 3 months of use, I didn't have any pimples (or at least only the rare the small one on the side of my nose. After 4 months of using it, my acne scars are noticeably starting to heal.

My 13 year old daughter has the T area of acne: forehead, nose and chin. She has been using this lotion for 2 months and we have not seen any improvement in her acne. Her skin is oily and she still has many pimples.

So I am probably one of the rare patients that this has happened too, however, I did get C-difficile while on this medication. I'm not sure I can fully blame this medication only, because I was also on meds for an ear infection as well. Just be cautious if you have any stomach issues at all.

My 11 year old daughter has back acne. This has been very effective in reducing the size and number of pimples. It has not stopped all of the breakouts, but it has minimized the amount and how long flares up last. I wished this was out when I had back acne!

I have only been using this for three days but the cluster of bumps that I tried for months in vain to eradicate with over the counter adult acne medications is 50% gone. Very happy. So far so good.

I had used the pledgets for half a year back in 2008 with no results. I tried again this year for about 6 months and it still hasn't helped. I still get major breakouts, and it doesn't work to try out my pimples. I had also tried the lotion for 2 months, but stopped after the oil buildup started increasing.

I have gone to numerous doctors (my general physician and several dermatologists) in trying to find a solution to what was called rosacea acne. I tried the metro lotion and a couple of different antibiotics. I have tried washing my face with Selsen Blue shampoo with selenium sulfide. It helped but was quite drying. NOTHING has worked like this Clindamycin Phosphate gel. After a week all my breakouts are healed and even the bumps under my skin on my chin and jaw are going away.

I have tried every other drug out there (over-the-counter and prescribed) and nothing has worked better than this! I use the gel every night and sometimes during the day under my makeup and you can't even tell it's there. By far, this is the best treatment I have used.

I had keloids at the back of my neck removed. To prevent them from returning, I used this and it works great. Bleeding from infection would occur on my pillow before I was introduced to this product, and now there is absolutely none.

I never used to get pimples, and over the last few months I have been breaking out. went to the dermo and she gave me diffrin and the clindamycin phosphate wipes. the diffrin works great, and the wipes were working great too until about a week later. my skin was EXTREMELY irritated from the wipes, it felt like the worst sunburn I'd ever had, only my face wasn't red, it was dry and flakey. My skin is always so soft and for the most part clear, so this was very upsetting for me. i can't believe from just a week this is how bad my face became. just from putting the pad close to my ears, not even touching the ears, made my ears peel. be careful with this acne product, clearly it is extremely strong.Read More Read Less

Every time I got a hair cut I would develop painful sores on my scalp. The dermatologist thought I had MRSA. Using this for 3-4 months twice a day and putting bactroban antibiotic ointment in my nasal area once a day for the first 5 days of the month cured it and every time I now get a hair cut I use it for approx. 5 days and I've not had another episode in 2+ years. I had it for approx. 2 years before I got this medication that worked.
