When I was diagnosed as hypertensive, my blood pressure was 238/170. This medication, within a month, brought my pressure down to 110/70 on average. I had no side effects except for some slight dizzy spells when I first started taking it as my body was used to having high pressure. My body had to readjust with lower pressure. The only thing I do not like is that Exforge is not available in gener...

Been on medication 10-160 for 10 months. Works well for lowering BP. Stays in the 117/76 to 125/80 range. After 6 months started to experience itch in face. Developed more into a rash or eczema in 9 months. Stopped taking med and determined exforge was the cause after itching stopped and rash went away. Skin beginning to clear up after 3 wks. Been switch to new med.

When I took this drug it did work to control my blood pressure but I started getting swollen lymph glands on my throat and recurring sinus infections. I never had a history of sinus infections before taking this drug. I didn't have any swelling, but you will need a good ENT doctor with this drug!

OFF this med due to: hair loss; fatigue; mood swings; bad a.m. cough; extreme leg cramps & edema in lower legs, ankles & feet that itched & felt like they would burst; developed petechia spots on ankles; stairs became unbearable; torso swelled up; aggravated my GERD. Back on Diovan, but took 3-4 mos to get rid of the torso swelling, got rid of edema in 3-4 wks, still have the spots a yr later. Plenty of other drugs available.....this one was just horrible!

Because I am on my feet a lot of the day my feet and legs do swell. This is a minimal side effect for me. I am thoroghly content with the product. However, it is $86 for one month. Quite expensive. I am on the lowest dose. My bp was 140/85 with the amlodipine. Now it is 124/71.

While I maintain a healthy blood pressure level of 110/70, I have started suffering hair loss!!!I am also suffering from migraines that I have not had since 2006 and have been depressed, crying about the smallest things. I also, every spring, work out really hard to lose the winter weight and instead of dropping about 20 lbs in 2-3 months, it took about 3 months to lose 10 lbs. and thats working out 4-5 days per week. I had been on the drug consistently for 5 months taking the 10/320. Since I noticed the hair loss, I went from 7 pills a week to 1 1/2-2 pills a week, 1/2 a pill every other day and have scheduled an appt w/ my PCP to get placed on a new medication. Losing hair at 30 y/o sucks!Read More Read Less

I've been on this drug for more than a year. After using many different BP drugs with little or no control, this has been the only one that really works for me. Lately, however, it's beginning to bother my stomach and it doesn't matter if I eat before taking it or not. I'm afraid to go off of it because I don't want to be on that roller coaster ride trying to find another drug that works as well.
