Went from 80 degree curvature to nearly normal. At time of injections had severe bruising and swelling. Went away in a few days. Three injection times separated by several weeks.

Had two shots in my right hand one month ago. No noticeable pain from the injections. Two days later with a big shot of novacaine, the doc gently pull my fingers. Didn't feel a thing but I heard the thread popping. In between do not mess with you fingers. I tried to shuck some corn but it set off enormous pain. However, my pinky is still black and blue and I have maybe 90% improvement. Go back next week for the other hand.

Terrible experience. My penis now curves upward and hurts like hell. Not to mention severe shrinkage. I have been trying to get an appointment with a specialist out of town and have to wait for 2 months. Stay away from this drug

I am a 64 year old male who had a 60 degree MP joint contracture of my right ring finger. Four days after my Xiaflex injections I was set up with 15cc of lidocaine before my finger was manipulated. Multiple manipulations totally eliminated the 60 degree contracture. --- (1) The procedure was concluded on 19 August 2019, with minimal post-procedure discomfort, the numbness being totally resolved in less than an hour after leaving the doctor's office. Some bruising and slight swelling of the right hand carried over into the following day. (2) All of the injections (both Xiaflex Read More Read Less

Decreased pain somewhat , but if I get an erection my bend is still 90 to 95 degrees. Xiaflex did nothing to correct this worthless bend. I have lost 3inches in length since starting with. PD. I am healthy, donâ??t smoke, drink, am a vegetarian, normal weight and BMI. Injections hurt and did nothing .

Two cycles, four shots, no improvement. Why did the FDA approve this drug?

Before my treatment, I could no longer easily open a jar or even hold a glass of water. While there was some initial pain and discomfort, all was consistent with what my doctor had explained prior to the treatment. It has been 2 months since my treatment, and I feel like I have my hand back. At this point I highly recommend and have no regrets. Based on other comments, I feel like maybe the hand doctor I saw played a large part in the success of my treatment.

Terrible pain, and swelling. absolutely zero improvement. I had the full round of shots (12) it actually caused my penis to shrink even further than it had with the 40 degree bend.

Ok. Initially I was very happy with the results despite it being a very painful procedure. Unfortunately, the results were very short-lived. More nodules than ever popped up only 3 1/2 months after the procedure while I while still wearing the splint. And it probably would not be bad but they are all around the nerve making it painful. I did have surgery prior and was hoping the injections would be the magic bullet. It's not. Believe me when I tell you - painful procedure.

It has been a month after treatment. I am still in constant pain. I have no function in my finger at all now. I cannot flex or extend or hold anything in my palm. My finger looks deformed with a lump on the PIP joint and lower part of my little finger is enlarged. The treatment was excruciating and the pain has not stopped. I am worse off now than before I had the treatment.

This was the worst experience I ever had in my life. The pain of the non conforming FDA recommendation (one injection...one cord) was totally disregarded by a teaching hand specialist. One shot 5 cords in one sitting. Aggressive manipulation on follow up visit which ripped my hand up as if a pit bull had chewed it up. The pain, and shredded hand was horrific. This â??teachingâ? hand specialist had been taking pictures all along during my visits. After he busted my whole hand open he never took a picture and would not allow us to take one. We have a picture from my first PT session and wound therapy. I still have all pictures Read More Read Less

My second treatment for DC. Had the needle treatment on one pinky finger eight years before DC returned and I decided to try Xiaflex (thanks to ads and only $300 out-of-pocket enticement). Five extremely painful injections and two days later, cord was snapped and finger straightened. It worked as advertised. My hand surgeon was awesome, explaining everything - including the pain involved. I'm still in recovery mode, but impressed that the cord was dissolved and snapped in just 48 hours after injections. My DC was 60 degrees. So far, I'm impressed with Xiaflex, despite the brief painful injections. The snapping of the chord was done with local numbing, which worked. The snapping of the chord was kind of interesting, and not painful at all. Local numbing is a must. And get a good board certified hand surgeon.Read More Read Less

Before this week I thought the benchmark for pain was when I had an emergency bladder catheterization. The xiaflex injections that I just received brought pain into a category that I never knew existed. Yes, my fingers are straight again and my medicare supplement made the cost almost zero. That said, I walked out of the office without requesting a previously planned authorization for xiaflex on my other hand. I've had 2 successful Needle Aponeurotomy sessions. 9 years ago at UCLA and prior to that I was in the first 800 cases performed by the Godfather of NA in Jupiter Florida. (I'm not using doctors names as I'm uncertain whether or not they'd be deleted in this forum). Insurance wasn't convinced yet so I had to pay about a grand out of pocket for the procedure not to mention the cross country flight and accommodations. If I can't find an experienced NA surgeon in network for my other hand, I'll gladly pay again whatever it costs out of pocket. In the meantime, I only hope they find a landfill that accepts Xiaflex!Read More Read Less

I had a 55 degree contracture that developed over 15 years or so. In February, my hand surgeon administered the Xiaflex injection, the MOST PAINFUL experience I've ever had. I had to bite my other hand to deal with the pain, and I was shaking all over. No anesthesia, just a needle in my hand being pushed in 5 times and moved around in a period of about 2 minutes. 24 hours later he injected novocaine, which was equally as painful in my already swollen hand, before snapping the cord (which I didn't feel thank God). I didn't look at my hand from day one until about a month later because I am very squeamish. 3 months of hand PT, and a total of 6 months until the last pain disappeared. All that so I can now keep my hand flat. I would never do it again though. Never.Read More Read Less
