All I can say is WOW!!! Echoing what some others have said. Armour just "stopped working" and it seemed to add unpleasant side effects: hair falling out, inability to concentrate, cold hands and feet, no (zero, zilch, nada) libido. This past year 2013 - 2014 I swear that it seemed to taste chalkier (like a poofy pillow) and like what ever they were using to "bind it" was keeping me from bei...

OMG! I stopped taking this drug today . After reading all the dozens of reviews. I could not figure out why I was so depressed the last 3 months as well as massive hair loss! The last prescription that I picked up smelled like a dead fish! I also read in fine print that it is NOT FDA approved?? Are docs getting a kick back to prescribe this drug??

I wake up in the middle of the night and take it, works beautifully. Armour Thyroid did NOT work for me at all.

This past year 2013 - 2014 I swear that it seemed to taste chalkier (like a poofy pillow) and like what ever they were using to "bind it" was keeping me from being able to digest / use it fully or something. I tried splitting the dose, taking it on a empty stomach / with food / after a meal. It just didn't work for me. I took my fist dose of NP this morning and it was like someone turned the light on. I took my second dose at lunchtime and noticed that I actually had the energy to walk down one of the long hall ways at work (as in I walked it and didn't stop to think about how long the hall way was... something that thyroid patients do, because we only have so much energy and we have to measure it out carefully). Anyway, only one day, but, my fingers are WARM!!! and it is 7:30 pm and I am ready to party! (boo yeah!). Read More Read Less

I had such extreme breast tenderness, I had to go off. My sensitivity to cold got worse than with Armour. I went back on Armour.

Amazing. I was on Armour Thyroid and didn't realize how much it wasn't working anymore since the reformulation of Armour in 2009. I started this medication as a request to my Dr who also said she she has heard many complaints about the new armour but people were doing well with this. Within two days, i felt good and now I feel even better. My hair stopped falling out, I sleep really well and I have MUCH more energy and my mood has improved drastically. I forgot how good I could feel again and I am so glad I switched to this medication. Definitely staying on it forever as long as it keeps working this well. Wow. Thank you NP Thyroid! If you are having problems with Nature-Throid or Armour definitely give this a chance but make sure you are also treating your adrenals as well.Read More Read Less

I've only been on the medication for 10 days, after having an allergic reaction to synthroid. I have felt tired to the point of needing an afternoon nap, developed still joints, and once felt dizzy -- it was like going back to before I was being treated for hypothyroidism. Clearly its a short period of time, but I'm switching to armour in the hope it will work as well as synthroid but without the allergic reaction.

It is my subjective experience with Np thyroid that it is superior to other natural thyroid medicines I have taken. It is reliable and consistent in controlling my underactive thyroid condition. Good product!

NP was substituted for Armour. After 90 days I'm back to Armour. I had hair loss, palpitations, joint pain, trouble sleeping and headaches. Not worth it when Armour has suited me well for many years!

I have Hashi's and was on on Levoxyl for 1.5 years with "normal" blood tests but no relief of symptons. Started NP Thyroid at 1 grain and increased 1/2 grain every 2 week until I was at 3 grains. Blood tests then showed my FT4/FT3 very low so I increased another 1/2 grain. A week later I'm almost incapacitated again...I feel like I did prior to any hormone replacement.

At first I saw really good reaults. Started losing weight and feeling much better. Now, I am finding that the consistency is a big problem. I don't know if it is consistency or shelf life, but the last presription that I recieved with an experation date for 2 years from now, seems to have NO effect at all even after having my dosage doubled. After a year of success, it's like taking baby asprin now instead of thyroid meds. Did they reformulate???

I loved the original armour then had to use naturethroid it was ok then I heard of NP thyroid & asked my doctor to let me try it. I immediately started gaining weight! I have been on it for 2 months & have gained about 6 lbs. Going back to my doctor to discuss this problem will probably have to go back to naturethroid. Anybody else having this problem on NP thyroid?

Suffered with hypo for 9 years on Levothyroxin. TSH results were always "normal" but still had awful hypo symptoms for all of those years. Asked Doc to change me to this... did my own research on it and found out how to properly increase dosage according to my symptoms. It's been 3 months and there is a HUGE difference in how I feel physically and mentally. Unfortunately, I have had to be my own doctor throughout this ordeal. Endo's were no help at all!!!!

I started taking NP Thyroid 90 3 weeks ago and have gained 5 lbs. I thought I would lose some weight if my thyroid was normal. I haven't felt any better either.

I have had a bad EKG and spent money for tests that if my doctor had known side effects should have stopped the drug. I also have insomnia and so was given more drugs.
