Don't be scared by all these reviews. Happy people don't write reviews lol. I have been taking this for 3 months with the biggest issue being breakthrough bleeding/spotting. It's tolerable and otherwise side effects have been OK. I gained maybe two pounds and I think it was all in my boobs.

At first, I loved this form of birth control, I was actually loosing weight. Small break through bleeding, no acne, no cramping, great libido, everything was fine for me. Well I ran out of the 5 samples I received from my doctor and I recently switched to the generic form of lo-loestrin due to insurance and costs. It's been about 4 months and I'm miserable, I hate myself, I get sad or mad about th...

I HATE this pill!! I am on my third pack of pills and it driving me nuts. I bleed 2 or 3 times a month now, and have gotten 2 vaginal infections since I started taking it. It is very frustrating! Thank God I am almost done with third pack. I'm done... I'd rather just suffer with pain from a cyst than bleed for the rest of my life on this evil pill!!!

I am 3/4 finished with my 2nd pack of pills, and still bleeding EVERY SINGLE DAY. And not just "spotting", either, but medium- to- heavy bleeding like a period. Every day. For 60 days. NOT okay! Doc prescribed this for treatment of severe PMS, but now I'm just annoyed that I'm bleeding all the time, and I don't really want to have sex, now do I? Oh, did I mention that it has completely destroyed my sex drive? I'm a newlywed... just lovely...

I was given this by my Doctor for a Hormonal Imbalance. After the 1st round of meds, I began to feel depressed (sad all the time). No other side effects but that.

In the 1980's, I took birth control pills for 20 years with absolutely no problems. Then I got an IUD, then got my tubes tied. I have had HORRENDOUS pre-menopausal symptoms, so my OB/GYN put me back on the pill, this time Lo Loestrin FE. I HATE THIS PILL!!! I have bled non-stop since the day I started it. I have pounding headaches all day long, everyday. My stomach is constantly nauseous. I feel like I have the flu, or am hung over (I don't drink). I am getting off this ASAP!!!

I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for a month now and I HATE it. I am moody all the time, and it has actually increased my cycles instead of stopped them. I have had a cycle every other week since starting this pill. the day after my cycle is gone I get bloated, breast swelling, cramps, and PMS all over again! I have also noticed about a week ago that my brest have increased almost a cup size and ther is a lump on the side of my brest that is extreamly sore and have been told this is a side effect of the pill, to wait it out. I am also not sleeping well and to top it all off my sex drive is 100% gone! Read More Read Less

At age 44, I had both ovaries removed in 2009 due to large masses so I was instantly dumped into surgical menopause. The hot flashes/night sweats came instantly and I would go through over 50 a day. I became extremely irritable and paranoid. My periods completely stopped. The GYN suggested this new low dose birth control Lo Loestrin FE. I got my life back within the week of starting the pills. My hubby was going to leave me if I didn't try something so I agreed to birth control pills. I don't have any side effects. The first month on them(2/11) I did have a light period. It was the first period that I'd had since the 2009 surgeries. After that I didn't have any more bleeding. I've been on the pills for 3 months now. I had to stop for a month because I needed surgery but was able to restart again shortly after. I'm so thankful that these pills saved my marriage. The hotflashes and night sweats went away, the mood swings and paranoia went away. I haven't gotten any acne or cysts nor have I gained any weight. If you are sensitive to pills, this might be for you. I'm allergic to everything but have tolerated these amazingly well. Read More Read Less

Prior to taking Lo Loestrin, I was on Loestrin. I began to experience a heavy, white discharge around week 2 of the pack. I saw my doctor 2 months in a row due to the discharge, and she linked it to the hormonal changes with Loestrin. I have been taking this medication and have not had any problems yet. I would like to keep it that way!

I had to start taking this because of my horrificly painful periods. It is amazing how much it helped me! However, it makes wearing my contacts unbearable and few bumps that would pop up periodicly here and there on my face are now huge painful pimples all over mainly my chest and especially my back. Unfortunately, I have stopped taking the medication because the acne it caused was so awful and painful. However, as for making my periods better, it was a true miracle. I am sad the side effects were so bad because it truly made me feel better.Read More Read Less
