I have been taking Evoxac for dry mouth due to Sjogren's syndrome for a couple of years. I started out taking it once or twice a day, but now take it 3 times daily, as the effect does not last long. I try to take it with food, because on an empty stomach it kicks in very quickly and powerfully--too much effect at once! It is only helpful for 2-4 hours after each dose, but better than nothing. My energy level drops to zero in less than 1 hour of taking evoxac, stay nauseous which causes me to over eat and the RX helps my sore mouth but the side effects over ride any benefits. I gained 10 lbs. before i realized i was eating to keep from throwing up.

I have been on Evoxac for a year and a half, it works well about 1/2 hour after I take it, but the effect only lasts about one hour. Also I think it has made my acne prblem worse, has anyone else noticed this side effect ?

I have Sjogren's and have for about 5 years..The Evoxac caused me to have a chronic cough for the last 2 years..they did chest x-ray to make sure there wasn't something else going on. I finially realized about 45 min after the med, I would start to cough. I know side effects are sinusitis and post nasal drip...actually as bad as I am with the dryness, I prefer to constantly drink over having to leave church, social events, etc because of the constant coughing. Anyone else have this? I went off the med, and, no longer have the problems..I don't think it was a great help with the dry mouth and eyes either...I was still a mess!!!Read More Read Less

I have Sjogren's Syndrome and my dry mouth is out of control. I tongue is raw feeling all the time, can't eat anything spicy, salty, minty, with pepper, my teeth rub my mouth and cause sores, the corners of my mouth split, my lips are chronically chapped and my tongue is splitting. Evoxac worked for a while and nothing works. Why isn't there something out there for dry mouth? I can't believe with all the magic and marvels of modern medicine..there's nothing. Biotene is great tooth paste, but I can't use any of the other products becuase, the mint is too strong. It's hard to eat now and it's not fair!Read More Read Less

My mouth was completely dry for months. Nothing helped. Evoxac was immediately effective. At first, the side effects were pretty intense. After a couple of weeks they subsided dramatically. This medication has made a huge possitive impact on the quality of my life. I am very pleased with the benefits of Evoxac.

This medication worked fantastic for 4 years, taking it twice a day, with no side effects. Then after a routine surgery, my sjogren's went into "overdrive" and nothing is helping anymore.

I've been on this medication for over 4 years and have had very good results. My only complaints are the hot flashes after taking it and that I have to take it 3 times a day as it's not a long-lasting drug. Without it, I can barely talk because of the dryness.

Works great but one side effect is minor flushing (like getting a hot flash). Takes about 45 - 60 minutes to kick in. Be careful not to take too close to bed time or you'll drool all over the pillow.

Have just started this med. after 4 years of dry mouth and having 7 teeth pulled because of them falling apart I'm willing to try anything to help. My remaining teeth are mostly chipped and have to come out, I had a blood inf. 4 years ago which threw the Sjogrens into overdrive. I also lost 70 lbs. and half my hair. My sinuses are constantly dry, and mostly destroyed after black mold caused a super inf. which had to be treated by anfoterrible. So hopefully before I have anymore horrible problems this medicine helps, being able to eat without having to coat food with sauce or drink more than a gallon and a half of water everyday. Or wake up with my tounge stuck to the roof of my mouth and so sore I can't stand it. Read More Read Less

Evoxac dried out my lips so that I have no moisture at all. If that wasn't bad enough I have severe burning in my lips I have to apply an Rx. ointment 10-15 times a day.Can this be reversed? The ointment is for yhe burning, does nothing for the dryness. I also have fibromyalgia and neuropathy. The ointment I am using now is Desonide 0.05%.My dermatologist, 2 dentists, and 2 oral/maxiofacial surgens state there is no pathology to do a biopsy. My tongue is also very swollen and sore.Ineed help! I haven't used Evoxac in several years. I never regained what I lost.Read More Read Less

Works great for my dry mouth & dry eyes. Eye check up recently shows more moisture returning to my eyes - best check-up in months! Had been taking off & on for a few years but started taking regularly 2-3 times a day for last 3 months after having lots of dry eye problems. Have not noticed any side effects except for a little drooling & I'll take that over cotton-mouth any day!

I have used this drug for several years. It causes me to sweat but it does not help the dry mouth and eyes very much. I have also started to shake in my hands. So much that I couldn't get a spoon in my mouth without the food falling off.I also had a hard time applying my makeup and signing my name was just horrendous. It did help with the saliva in a very small way but the side effects aren't worth it for me.I am looking for a new solution.

I've been on the medication for over a year now. I still have a bit of thrush or some sort of whiteness around the mouth after I talk a long time or jog. After reading the other reviews, I may increase to two times a day and see if that helps. My doctor originally wanted me to take it three times a day.

I've been taking Evoxac for about 3 months and it helped my dry mouth so much when I first started it that I had to only take it twice a day rather than 3 times. But now I'm having dry eyes a lot and Evoxac is not helping them at all. It's not helping as much for my dry mouth as it was when I first started it.

Evoxac relieves dry mouth without side effects for me. Dry mouth is not 100 percent gone, but Evoxac helps enough to continue use.

I was put on this drug for sjogren's Syndrom. Not only has it helped my dry mouth, eyes, and skin; it has reduced the fatigue and muscle pain. I feel better than I have for many years.
