I was given a short course of Tylenol #3 with Codeine for pain following a dental procedure. It helped, but was not as helpful as Vicodin. I would say this drug would be good for less acute/severe pain, while Vicodin would be better for stronger pain control.

Do not like the dizzy feeling after taking it. Is there any other sleep enhancement that does not have codeine or other addictive drug?

I have IIH and had been on Norco 10mg/325 for almost 2 months every four hours. It had lost effectiveness so mysurgeon called and discussed options. Seeing as how the stronger pain meds seem to have horrid side effects I wanted to stay away from them as much as possible. So we started this medicine. Well sorry to say it did nothing...not even an ounce of relief. So I guess I will try something stronger and hope for the best.

I have an abscessed tooth and it helps me okay. The pain is still there after I take it, but it calms in down a lot.

This works very well for me. Vicodin makes me throw up with or without eating. This takes the pain away and doesn't make me sick!!

The medication is a tricky one. It can easily cause you to be nauseous. Eating somethings helps with that BUT decreases the effect of the drug. Antihistamines help as well but you must be careful about drowsiness and the possibility that it may cause breathing problems. Doesn't last very long in the system. I found that having a cup of coffee or some other form of caffeine gives this medication a boost though there's that chance that the caffeine can upset your stomach. I'm alright with it but only for minor pain.Read More Read Less

Dr. gave me this along with some other scripts for an upper respiratory tract infection. My cough was so bad that it hurt to breath. This has helped my cough and my throat. Before I took this I couldn't even talk above a whisper, and now I am able to function. It doesn't cure all the pain, but it has made the difference between being able to go to work, and having to stay home in bed. Great for short term pain.

When taking this medication, at first I am ok, but about an hour or so after taking this, I have severe stomach pains, I will be hunched over in the fetal position screaming in pain. I don't know what is causing this, but when I went to the dr about it all I got was "The pains CANT be from the medication". Maybe I am just going to the wrong dr or something. Anyone have any help for me

Controls my pain. Tolerance does develop after continued use and therefore does not always work as well as expected.Although, a weak opiate, it is still easy to get into a regular routine of taking this med and addiction can occur. Overall, decent med for pain as needed.

Doctor prescribed it to me after extracting all four of my wisdom teeth. Did not work very well at easing my pain. Also, made me extremely nauseous and made it extremely hard for me to eat or drink anything because it made me want to vomit.
