I have been on this cream for 8 months. I suffered from acne but now they are completely gone. It is a strong drying cream so use it twice per week if u are just starting with this cream. I see a dermatologist every 2 to 3 weeks and I'm so happy with this cream. I'm already 40 yrs old so not only does it help with acne it helps with fine lines as well. Per my dermatologist my daughter also uses th...

Helps keep wrinkles and sun damage at bay better than other more expensive products, and kills the occasional blemish quickly. USE SUNSCREEN! :)

I used this on spots near my hair line and it caused hair loss in those areas that has not grown back.

I used Tretinoin cream for acne and at first I followed the directions. I washed my hands after using it. After awhile I got lazy and did not wash after as often. Eventually I didn't at all. My fingers became pitted, meaning that it looked like small chunks of skin just along the top had been cut out. My fingers became extremely sensitive to hot and cold, and turned blue and a light shade of purple. I went to see a rheumatologist and had blood tests done. It came back saying I may have Lupus or Raynaud's. Luckily, the rheumatologist told me to just stop using Tretinoin cream to just see if that would change anything. It did. The pitted fingers healed and looked normal in 3-4 months. The next blood tests came back normal. Now I just have slight sensitivity to handling cold objects. Read More Read Less

My doctor said I could use this for solar keratoses and other pimple like breakouts that don't heal well. It has been very effective for removing these. I tubes last a very long time as just 3-4 applications, once per day, right on the spot will cause it scab and heal. It was originally prescribed for Grover's Disease by a dermatologist.

I see a dermatologist every 2 to 3 weeks and I'm so happy with this cream. I'm already 40 yrs old so not only does it help with acne it helps with fine lines as well. Per my dermatologist my daughter also uses this product she's 16. She has the gel base lower prescription strength but it works great for her too and she's only been on it for a month. So many expensive products out there when u can just see a dermatologist and get a prescription for the cream and get great results. My insurance is great I only pay 5 dollars for the cream instead of 100's for all these expensive products that don't work. I highly recommend it! Works wonders! Also get the GAP treatment (face peel) at your dermatologist. Helps speed up process for people with severe acne, dark spots. Try it under a dermatologist supervision. Good luck.- RoseRead More Read Less

I have suffered from acne since I was about 15. Always cystic with some more shallow occasionally. I have tried every wash, mask, antibiotic, and even accutane when I was 17(made me lose a significant amount of my hair and cleared my skin for about a year). For the past year and a half, I have been using tretinoin and cycling through Septra occasionally. This has worked for my skin. I no longer have any surface-level acne and maybe one small, fast-healing cyst (used to take months to heal) per month. I have come to the conclusion that I will never be rid of my acne 100%, but I am extremely happy with the 90% tretinoin has let me achieve. Yes, it will dry out your skin, and yes you will have flaking. It took a couple months for mine to calm down and I still sometimes overdo it and have dryness issues, but those issues do not compare to the constant pain and embarrassment of severe cystic acne. This cream has also greatly improved the appearance of my scars, it has decreased their depth and size. I would recommend this highly over accutane, which will also dry out your skin, can't be taken long term, isn't permanent and has horrible side effects. Read More Read Less

I am 58yrs old & was prescribed this cream for face wrinkles & evidence of schleroderma around my upper lip. I have been using the cream (.05% strength) nightly for 6 months & my face has greatly improved. Most fine wrinkles have disappeared and my skin around the lip area is again soft. I have not experienced any side effects.

I have had acne since I was about 14. This medication (retin-A) is the only thing I have ever used that works at all. Without it I would have cystic, pustules all over my face. However I am still hoping for a permanent cure, this is the next best thing. I love the sun, exercising, alcohol, spicy foods and hot baths, so avoiding those things are not an option. lol. Anyone using this product, I have had success with applying liquid vitamin E, from a capsule for the dryness and only using very mild cleansers and fragrance/oil free products. I think I may try cold compresses before bed as well. Good luck :)Read More Read Less

I started using this cream to clear up my complexion and against wrinkles. I've used it for 3 months now and my skin is glowing. Be careful, if you use too much it will cause skin irritation (peeling, itching, redness). I have experienced this and I started using less cream and even use it every other night at times. Overall I think this cream is great if you have acne or just want to age gracefully. My friends and family always compliment me on how great my skin looks and ask me what I use. I never tell them :). It's my little secret!!Read More Read Less

Got diagnosed with adult acne, which left me with 5-7 large pimples on my face at any given time. Took Retin-A and by the end of the month there was a noticeable clearing of the skin. After 2-3 months, my acne was completely gone. My complexion is now even, there are no dark marks, and a fine wrinkle that was once on my forehead is no longer there. I adore this medication.

I have been suffering with mild-moderate acne/blemishes for over 7 years now. I did notice that it becomes worse with makeup, so the best advice I can give would be to make sure its non-comodegenic (specifically talc-free--Physicians Formula is really good) or dont use anything at all--the acne flare ups are not worth it! It seems that my acne has gotten worse as I got older, for some reason, but the blackheads on my nose that I've had since I was 11-12 just dont seem to go away! I have tried absolutely everything from the drugstore, which is like 30+ products--only to be discouraged in the end. I've also tried a prescription; a combination of benzoyl peroxide and erythromacin--but that didnt work either, just left my skin burned and irritated. I havent used this to the recomended length (6-12 weeks) yet, but they were defintely right about it getting worse before better--was hoping that wouldnt be the case. But this definetly works better than my presciption and doesnt irritate the skin as much and doesnt flake or burn; but that was after learning the hard way; WAIT AT LEAST 20 MIN AFTER WASHING YOUR FACE BEFORE APPLYING, the skin has to be as dry as possible. Someone mentioned using it with a benzoyl peroxide face wash for better results; I'm currently using Cetaphil for combination skin, which I absolutly recommend because its extremely gentle and doubles as a makeup remover. Seems to be less irritating, so hopefully...after all those years, the results will be positive =)))Read More Read Less

I have been using this medication off and on to help with my acne for almost two years, as part of several different skin care regimens. It is not a miracle-worker in and of itself, but can work very well when used in conjunction with other products. For me, it did a good job healing my acne and fading the scars, but did not do much to prevent acne forming in the first place. I would recommend it as one component of a skin-care regimen, but not on its own.

I have rosacea and this works great on the bumps. I ran out and didn't use it for a couple of months and I realized how good it had been working and started back. In in addition it prevents my break outs before I start each month
