CREON CAUSES CROAN'S DISEASE and/or ULCERATIVE COLITIS!!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE!! I hope readers will read this and heavily consider my advice. I began taking Creon 24,000 2 weeks ago, and 1 DAY after beginning Creon I began seeing blood in my stool. Yesterday I had a colonoscopy to see what is going on because I was afraid it would be colon cancer, being that I had all the symptoms of co...

Recently cut the dosage in half as a test. Pancreatic pain returned and weight loss accelerated. Five more pounds and the test is over.

I took this medication for a year and a half. My digestive system was damaged by antibiotics and I also have Crohns. My concern was I had a urinary track frequency and pain problem for about a year. Has anyone else experienced this side effect? The pain stopped when I stopped taking it. My doctor doesn't think the creon caused it, but I saw it listed as a side effect in the medication side effect section. I am having hypoglycemia symptoms now and started taking it again. Perhaps a lower dosage might help? Any input from users of this medication would be appreciated.Read More Read Less

My condition is chronic and not alchohol related.---I am a non drinker. I was using Pangestyne, but still continued to have pain after eating.---I use 1/3 as much Creon and suffer no pain or colon problems. It is working great! I really believe its coating protects the enzyme until it gets past the stomach and lets it dissolve at the proper time and place. I am very pleased with Creon 20 But,I may not be able to continue this great drug because of it's cost!! Please note that most drug warehouses do not store any of the enzyme drugs at the manufacturers recommended temperature !! I live in a hot state and heat is a killer for this drug---Pangestyne seemed to be more affected by the incorrect storage--bad batches were very common. I have not experienced that affect with Creon.Read More Read Less

Like the previous person, I also have to take 2 pills per meal, but it works better than any other pancreatic enzyme I've tried.
