I was seen for STREP THROAT very early in the process (When there was nothing more than a scratch in my throat) and was prescribed this medication. For as long as I have been alive and experienced STREP this is the worst case ever and I think it has to do with the medication. All of a sudden, I have symptoms that don't pertain to my illness. I've not noticed the taste I was warned about but I have noticed that this doen't seem to be doing a damn thing. I felt the symptoms on Friday. Saw the doc and started the medicine on Saturday. Here it is Tuesday and I am 100 times worse then before. My body is reacting is strange ways. Cold spells mixed with intense heat. Even while I'm typing this I am boiling hot and sweating in a room that is 70. I am also having trouble getting to sleep...something I never expereienced before this medication (especially being sick). My last case of strep was given ZYTHROMAX (spelling?) and I noticed a change in the first day or two. This medication has done nothing. I'm not sure why the doctor recomended it (I've not heard of it before) but it has been a waste of my time. At this point, I'm pretty sure my body is healing itself in spite of the medication. I have instant side effect of explosive diarrhea repeatedly. Nauseated also. This is worse than the pneumonia. I was prescribed 2 tabs 500mg each.

Diagnosed with chronic sinus infection. On pill for 1 month. Unknown if its effective yet. Bad taste grows throughout first week, peaks, then diminishes. Getting strange cramps- noticed warnings about potassium, so perhaps it just gave me low potassium. In that case bananas should probably help. Nausea only if my stomach is empty- travel with crackers. Lots of tiredness, but drinking lots of water really helps. Also, I was on prednisolone to start, so it's difficult to tell where some side effects are coming from. My sinuses were infected and a nasty cough with lots of mucus. I didn’t realize the body could make produce so much. This prescription leaves a very NASTY taste in my mouth, especially when I cough….gross! And its worse in the morning .I've been tired, but unsure if it’s caused by the prescription or just because I'm sick. I have gotten hot flashes, break out in a sweat and get the shakes all at the same time. It slightly upset my stomach and made me slightly nauseas, but I make sure I take it with a full stomach every time. It’s defiantly not the worse prescription I've taken for an infection and I would use it again. After the 1st day of taking it I felt great after being sick for 4 weeks!!!Read More Read Less

I took a 5 day supply of the medicine and I had to stop taking it because of two reasons. First, it did not help me but instead it made me worse. Second, I had an allergic reaction to it which caused me to have blisters in my mouth. I will not ever take this drug again and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

This medicine is definitely for those with weak stomach's like myself. I was prescribed this for a severe sinus infection. I took it for three days. It made me very sick to my stomach, gave me severe diarrhea, insomnia, mood changes and the roof of my mouth burned the entire time I took it. My doctor finally prescribed me something else. Oh, and the bad taste in your mouth I drank a ton of water and it finally went away (I mean a lot though... and I ate lots of bread). I will never take this again.Read More Read Less

For the person having stomach cramps, my doctor warned me to make sure not to take this on an empty stomach or it could cause stomach pain.

Yes, I agree this med has some taste issue but for me it was not as bad as others (Pep-to). Also surprisingly there I did not get a Yeast infection from this med which I find often with antibiotics. I will use again if necessary keeping my alarm handy.

have chronic sinus infections, allergic to penicillin. Having strange stomach cramps and have a horrible taste in my mouth, which is dry. It's only day 2 of 10. Does it get better with time?

Bronchitis and laryngitis. This was the worst medication I’ve ever suffered through. I will refuse this prescription in the future unless there is absolutely nothing else on this planet that will help me. The aluminum taste turned into a horrid taste and odor that made me more nauseous than before starting the medicine. Brushing, flossing, mouthwash – nothing gets rid of it. I gag (if I don’t throw up) every time I cough or sneeze.

I went to my doctor for a sinus problem. He determined I had the beginnings of a sinus infection. He prescribed this medication, which I've been on for 4 days. It hasn't done a thing for me. I can't sleep at night since my nose is still so plugged and my sinuses are still so painful. This drug does nothing for sinus infections.

I currently have laryngitis and bronchitis, I have taken this medicine for 4 days and while I am feeling a little better I still have no voice, a HORRIBLE metallic taste in my mouth, nausea and vomiting (makes it hard to want to eat or drink anything). Not to be whiny :)

I had laryngitis and bronchitis and my doctor prescribed Clarithromycin. Although it worked, it left me waking up with a metal-like taste in my mouth and my very first yeast infection (how exciting!..not). So now I have to go back to the doctor to treat a yeast infection.

I took two doses of this medicine for acute bronchitis and I had somewhat of an allergic reaction, with my skin burning and I was extremely fatigued and felt dizzy. Along with other symptoms that were normal side effects. My doctor immediately told me not to take anymore. Although it seemed to help my cough and the phlegm in my lungs, I won't take it again due to the horrible side effects and my sensitivity to it.
