I have been on this medicine for almost a week for acute bronchitis and upper respiratory infection(URI)It has helped my cough & it tastes GOOD. But I am having real problems sleeping and BAD dreams & hallucinations when I do.If it was not for that I would strongly recommend it. It does work well for its intended purpose.

This is the only thing that I have found that will actually get rid of my cough. It is really expensive though, I paid $125 for a 6 oz bottle. I dont think it tastes bad at all. I wonder what the little grainy things are in the liquid.

I have COPD & asthma so freguently get bronchitis & or pneumonia. This is the most effective cough syrup I have ever used & I have used many! I do not know what the narcotic ingredient is but do not think it is codiene,it helps me much more than the codiene syrup I had been using. It is very exspensive & my insurance does not cover it. But it is worth the price just wish the drug companies would charge less.

I found this cough suppressant to be by far the most effective I've ever taken in my history of chronic bronchitis since I was a child. The downside was insomnia at times caused by a burst of energy versus relaxation and then when able to sleep; caused strange dreams. The cough is definitely suppressed, yet if a person has an addictive/dependent history, it would be best not to use it. It is surprisingly sweet and tasty as increases the odds of becoming dependent or taking more often than recommended. I urge others to be very careful with the doses and length of time using this "yummy" and effective product. Since it is expensive and a controlled substance, this is a great deterrent for those warned above. The dosage most certainly needs to be measured correctly and taken as directed. Good Health! I have a history since my youth of coughs that get "out of control" and last for at least a month, untreated. Not only is the the only cough medicine that I've found that works for me, but it tastes delicious too! I can't understand why an addictive prescription cough medicine is made to taste sweet and yummy, while the cheap over-the-counter ones taste so nasty! But even if it tasted awful, I would still use it, because it works. Thankfully I only need about 1 bottle per year, as I only need it when I get a cold with a cough.Read More Read Less

I had an ear infection, pharyngitis, strep, bronchtis, and a high fever. Tussionex was the only thing that helped with the cough, and some of the pain from my ears and throat. I am a house manager for a family with 3 boys, it didn't make me sleepy at all. It is expensive ($141.99) but thank goodness for insurance (31.56).

This is my daughters first time to take this medication.She is taking it for a cough that has resulted from a respritory infection. It has had no effect at all on her cough. Was very pricey and for the lack of results we could of stayed with over the counter medications.

Expensive, and controlled substance, so don't be suprised if its hard to get, but it't the only one that works.....

First let me say...it taste nasty! lol When I first opend it I smelled of it and was like...gross! It's so thick and taste so disgusting BUT it works!!! I would recommend this med to anyone with a cough! I take it twice a day so it makes me kinda loopy and sleepy but I have bronchitis so thats okay! I had to work today so cant take it till I get home. Very effective med for a cough! The codiene is addictive so be carefull! I tried to carry on a productive converstation shortly after taking it...well..I made no sense so I just went to sleep...lol Ask your doc for this med if you have a bad cough because it does work! First cough suppressent I have ever taken (over 50 years) that effectively worked every time. No ill side effects and cough almost always stopped within a few minutes. One dose lasted for hours

I have had severe bronchitis for several years and had givin up hope for a good medicine i had tried numerous meds. none worked until my doc recommended me this. It is amazing.

As a registered nurse, i have handed this prescription out many times to patients in the emergency room but it is my first time ever taking this medication personally. It works great. Feel much better!

I must say if you have an addictive personality this is NOT the drug to use. I had a horrible cough for a week, and this was the only thing that relieved the cough. But I felt VERY druggy! could not eat. I slept all day, once the script ran out i did go through a little withdrawl. It is very effective for clearing the cough but thats about it. I felt just very loopy all day

i to have just started this medicine a few day ago it is very strong but it does work, head is fuzzy most of the day,therefor i could not work because i drive. have not experience withdrawal system.does make u very sleepy for about 3 hr.

The medication worked extrememly well for my bronchitis. I had severe shortness of breath that was made worse with coughing. After being up for 3 nights I was finally able to sleep. I am a bit jittery, but that could also be caused by breathing treatments.

It is great!!! I was coughing so bad that I could hardly talk to the doctor, not that I needed to tell them what was wrong. I have experienced a little halucination and dry mouth,but it is worth it to not cough.

effective but have been experiencing withdrawl symptoms after 5 days of treatment.

It helps me sleep and stops my cough, the only down side is that my head feels a little fuzzy for part of the next day.

I am currently taking this med. for a cough due to severe bronchitis. It seems to work really well for the first 4-5 hours but I begin to cough and experience pain from pulled muscles after about 5 or 6 hour. The medication however can only be taken every 12. At least I am able to get a few hours of restful sleep.
