I was prescribed the drug yesterday within a four week pregnancy. After reading many of the online reviews I was absolutely terrified, which as a result I am writing this review in an effort to help calm some of the nerves out there. Although I have three more nights to go with this, (I am to take 400mcgs over four nights)I have to say my first night was not the nightmarish experiences women o...

The medication works well yes, but the experience is the worst thing ever. The first tablet you swallow is perfectly fine but then 24hours after that. The second course of tablets you have to insert is where it begins. The pain is unreal it literally feels like youre giving birth, they are not normal period pains and the bleeding is non stop. You can feel everything coming out of you. Before going through with an abortion please make sure youre somewhere comfortable, near a toilet and have a week off work Read More Read Less

My experience was great and i feel like people are more likely to review a bad than a good so take alot with a pinch of salt. Age 35 already got one child. took first pill and had no side effects . 24 hours later i inserted one and within 1 hour started bleeding lightly & cramps . took 2 paracetamol. inserted pill 2 two hours later and cramps ramped up to 7/10 pain i had a hot water bottle and lay in bed took some ibruprothen. Overnight only used one maternity pad. Tiny clots like 10p size every so often and when i stood i felt more of a gush of blood. Heavy bleed for 2-3 days. After day 2 i used a mooncup ( nurse said it would be fine after day one as long as regularly clean it as not enough evidence to suggest otherwise). Bleeding can slow and then start again . Bled for about 7 days but got much lighter after day 3 down to like light/medium normal period. Honestly do it , if you have made your decision. it sounds awful but hardest part of this whole thing was having to wait 7 days to get an appointment when i knew straight away i wanted this termination - it was like being stuck in a nightmare and nothing you can do. Insert the pills instead of swallowing for proven less side effects.Read More Read Less

Before I took the medication that starts the cramping and bleeding I came on here to see the reviews on pain. I will say everyone is different, but please know that it isn’t as bad as people are making it seem. It is cramping but it’s completely manageable .. you won’t be screaming and crying .. maybe if you just hate any type of cramp you will. But I promise the reveries on here scared me. I’m currently about to take my second dose and finish. The dr said the first dose would be the hardest & it’s over with :) it’s literally slightly more painful than your normal period. Please be sure of your decision. I took the first pill prescribed with this course for abortion and regretted it instantly. There is no way back. Once you've taken the first tablet, it is over. I had to finish the course despite having tried to save my pregnancy. In regards to this medication: when they say at the abortion clinic that it’s just like a heavy period, it absolutely is not. Within 5 minutes of the tablets dissolving I was uncontrollably shaking, bleeding, and in the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. The pain was like contractions, coming in waves, with the feeling of your insides being twisted and ripped out. You feel dizzy and faint, and paracetamol doesn’t help. Codeine helped a little but you have to wait for it to kick in. This is coming from someone who was 5 weeks pregnant, so if you’re further along I can only imagine it’ll be worse. Do not take this medication if you cannot handle pain well. Again, please be 100% sure before you take it, I wouldn’t wish the way I feel now upon my worst enemy. Read More Read Less

I'm writing this as a positive review for someone that is going through this right now. I took this medication I was 5 weeks and 1 day. It's a medication that is messing with body. It will hurt. But u gotta be smart about it. Ibuprofen itself it won't cut it. I had taken the 1ar pill ar the clinic and around 410pm I took 1 tramadol and 1 Ibuprofen 800 and 440pm I inserted the pills vaginally. 3 hours later I started feeling the cramps. I took one more tramadol /1 Ibuprofen and started humming and with warm pad on my belly. If u have a stronger pain medicine at home , u better take. I used to have oxycodone from a dental job but I threw away and I regretted now. But tramadol made the job once I took the second dose. They were 50 MG. I fell sleep at some point, around 2am I went to pee, and I saw the blood and clots coming out. When I wiped I saw the little blob on the toilet paper thats when I knew I had passed. Around 8am I peed again and more blood. Then, the blood really slow down. Barely like a period. I have little cramps here and there. I take the Ibuprofen for that. But the trick ladies for this is two take 2 tramadol and I Ibuprofen and four hours later take some more 1 tramadol and 1 Ibuprofen. If u take just Ibuprofen u are in for a hell of a ride because is going to hurt. I only felt 10% of the pain because i only took 1 tramadol 1 Ibuprofen. I coulsnt managed no more. Love yourself and be easy with urself. Don't rely only on the Ibuprofen. It's going to hurt ??. Take the opioid it's just for a day. U will be fine. Anyways, 2 weeks from now I have a follow up and iud placed. I hope my comment easy someone mind. There one comment here that easied my mind. She was also 5 weeks and 1 day. And I followed her instructions except she had stronger medication (oxycodone) then I did (tramadol). Just take higher dose of tramadol and u will be fine. 24 later I barely even bleeding and I felt relief after all. Read More Read Less

I was nervous about taking the medication as I knew it was going to be prolonged pain versus the clinic option, but I wanted to be in the comfort of my own home with my boyfriend. I was 7-8 weeks along, and although it was awful, it is still better than going through full pregnancy and giving birth, I'd imagine. The first pill, I had almost no side effects, maybe slight nausea but I had consistent nausea the whole 7 weeks prior so it's hard to say. I took 7 ibuprofen an hour beforehand and within 30 minutes of taking the second round pills (vaginally), I threw up my breakfast and the ibuprofen so I went through it without any pain reducers. I couldn't take more since I was feeling so nauseous and knew I'd throw them up anyway. I took a nap for the first 1.5 hours then around the 3.5 hour mark I started having cramps comparable to peak period cramps. The next hour turned into the worst pain I had ever felt. I had two prior IUD insertions and those were slightly less painful but quick and done. The prolonged pain for this was indescribable, and I manage pain pretty well. I started getting overheated and sweating so my boyfriend brought a fan in which helped a lot. I pretty much stayed on the toilet for the remaining 1.5 hours due to extreme cramps and almost constant diarrhea throughout. I don't want to sugarcoat it, but within the last 30 minutes, the pain escalated and I had the contraction feelings about every minute or 2. It was so unbearable I felt like I was going to pass out and even thought I'd rather just die.. I could tell the embryo tissue was passing through my cervix and pushed hard. I watched it come out and into the toilet and it was about the size of a lime, white, and very thick, with a small attachment of dark blood which I'm assuming is what was connected to the uterine lining. Seeing that it wasn't even remotely resembling a fetus yet did ease the mental "pain" and I was more relieved to be done with pain than any sadness for ending it. I actually had next to no blood clots, which was described in the "what to expect" section of the medication. When it passed, the awful pain almost instantly went away. I only had very mild cramping for about 30 mins after. The rest of the evening was a steady stream of blood, and 36 hours later I am still slightly bleeding but no pain. As awful as the experience was, I am still relieved to not continue the pregnancy. Every female is different and I'm sure each week along varies the pain as well. I definitely do not want to experience it again, and I know a full pregnancy/birth is definitely worse. But for what it was, the pills and pain were worth it as bad as it feels in the moment.Read More Read Less

My experience was both good and bad. I took the first dose of mifepristone at the doctors office and had no symptoms or side effects. The following day this was my routine… 740am I took 400mg ibuprofen, my doctor recommended up to 800mg but I have a high tolerance for pain. At 8am I took nausea meds also recommended by my doctor. At 830am I placed all 4 Misoprostol pills in one cheek and let them fully dissolve until about 910am. At 930 I got some mild cramping. I slept for a little over an hour and woke up to light bleeding around 1115. Around 12 cramping starts again and I got regular period like bleeding. At 1230 the game changed. From 1230-2 I was half naked screaming and crying in pain on my shower floor. It felt like contractions coming and going and I was passing blood clots as well as diarrhea. I would say the pain level was 15+ on a scale of 1-10. Thank god for my husband who propped me up on towels, kept me clean, and did everything he could to comfort and support me. At the end there was one last giant contraction and as soon as I passed that last clot I knew it was over. I slept for 2 hours immediately after that. I know everyone goes through this differently and it depends on your body and how far along you are. Overall, it wasn’t A terrible experience. That 2 hour block was horrific… screaming, crying, pleading for it to stop, debating whether to call an ambulance…. But it didn’t last forever. Have a support person with you, take the pain meds, and you will get through it. Read More Read Less

I had took this medication about 2 weeks ago. I took the first pill in the clinic then 24 hours later I took the 4 pill two in each cheek. I laid down and went to sleep. I woke up to use the bathroom I heard a thud but couldn’t see if it passed or just a clot but I assumed that was it because I started to lightly bleed afterwards. Then yesterday I get two bloated like when it cramps your stomach when you walk. I used the bathroom after taking 2 gas tablets thinking that’s the case but while using the bathroom a bigger clot came out and this one smelled so bad it wasn’t jelly form more of a empty sac. Today I am bleeding but I’m not sure if this is my period it has no smell. Read More Read Less

To start off I’m 7 weeks & 2 days pregnant. I took the first pill in the clinic and I was super nervous about it all. After I took it, I felt fine and went home. I woke up the following morning with slight nausea so I took some zofran. The other 4 pills she gave me I took at 3:30. She said I could take them the next day or the day after but I wanted to get it over with. My anxiety was so high ( I suffer from panic attacks) so I took a tramadol which is a pain pill and 1 zofran. This was 30 minutes before. At 3:30 I put two pills in each cheek down by my gum and waited for them to dissolve. About maybe 20 minutes in I start feeling pressure. 25 minutes later I feel full cramping and this weird feeling. Like you have to pee. So I get up and go to the bathroom and I pee out a little blood. After that some clots fall out and the sacs do maybe 30 minutes later. So basically you need to stay on the toilet. I put a pad on before this process which I recommend. My experience was not painful at all. It was dull cramping and aching which I’m sure the pain meds helped a bit. I literally freaked out over nothing. Don’t read the reviews and let it scare you. A couple hours have passed now I’m just bleeding. It’s not heavy, it’s normal. What helped me was turning on relaxing music and having a heating pad. Listen to your body. You got this. I was 4 weeks 2 days when I first took first medicine at the clinic. 36 later around 10am I took 1200mg of ibuprofen and 30 minutes later put second 4 pills in my cheeks to dissolve. They dissolved very quickly within a minute. I did not feel any major cramps, bled lightly and only tiny clot came out. Now after 8 hours I stopped bleeding already. I’m not sure if the sac came out and if I’m still pregnant. Has anyone experienced the same?

So after 28 year old never falling pregnant I stupidly convinced myself that I was completely infertile. I was wrong. I fell pregnant this year which was a huge shock. I was not ready and neither was my partner so I chose to go through with an abortion.. I was so scared to be honest, not knowing what to expect. I went to the doctor's, at this point I was 5 weeks.. I had to then wait a further two more weeks to get an appointment at the hospital to discuss my options for an abortion at this point I was 7 weeks pregnant. They gave me the first pill at the hospital then told me to wait 40+ hours before doing the other four tablets vaginally then the last two by mouth.. after taking the 4 tablets vaginally I layed down for one hour then for 2 more hours nothing was happening.. I then took the last two tablets and put them between my mouth and gums and let them dissolve it took forever to be honest and that's when the crampings started to begin.. at first it wasn't too bad it was bearable but then it gradually got worse and worse as the hours went on.. I couldn't keep still or in one position because of the pain being unbearable, I kept shaking, I turned completely white in the face and when I took up I was hunched over because it was too painful to stand up straight. I'd say the pain was definitely a 9 out of 10 for me even though I took painkillers it didn't seem to help. I threw up a few times but throwing up was actually helping ease the cramps I was experiencing.. after about two hours of chronic pain I sat on the toliet and listened to some relaxing music, took some deep breaths then all of a sudden a release of liquid came out of me then the cramping soon disappeared and was able to stand up straight again. Then for the rest of 4 hours I was bleeding very heavily but no more cramps... Honestly it was a very painful experience but you just have to bare in mind the pain isn't forever and it soon passes. I suffer very bad from anxiety so I was Google searching everything which didn't help too much either.. when I saw loads of blood I was thinking am I bleeding out but no it was just the pregnancy passing. Honestly this is one of the worst experiences of my life. This experience has definitely taught me a lesson to be extremely careful in the future. There's no way I ever want to have to go through with an abortion again. I felt bad enough as it is for the potential child I could of had but I'm honestly not ready financially, mentally or physically I felt it wouldn't of been fair on the child if I was to bring him/her into this world atm when I'm no way prepared and the father was not prepared one bit either. I do feel selfish for not being safe in the first place but we all make mistakes it doesn't make us bad people for doing what we think is the right thing at the time. I hope anyone who's going through a similar thing will be ok. Women you've got this the pain isn't there forever. Read More Read Less

I was prescribed Mifegymiso on Wednesday March 8th 2023, However, I didn't start it till Friday the 10th, because I was at work and wanted the weekend. After the doctor was telling me the side effects I got scared not going to lie. So I started reading up on the drug, With still lots of uncertainty. And lots of panic to the point I called to schedule to have it surgically removed, but that would not happen for another 3 weeks. At this point I'm already 6.7 weeks I wait to long I can take at home abortion medicine. So still in panic while at work Friday I took the first pill at 5pm, didn't do anything other than make me feel weird. The next day time was getting closer to take all 4 capsal, I was still in question about it but knew I had to finish taking it. I was scared to the point I was in tears, However, I went ahead and took them I timed it so I could just go to sleep. So I did that I took them at 11:30pm not before taking ibuprofen. I went to bed, not long after the pills dissolved the cramping start very mild but there, Between 12 and 6am I was up often making my way to the restroom, I felt a few clots come out, but can't be certain it worked Back to doctors with blood work in three weeks to make sure. I was so scared of the pain to follow, but honestly it wasn't that bad, it was pretty mild throughout, however, a few sharp ones, But everyone is different so it can effect everyone differently, for me it was mild and got myself pretty scared for nothing. Overall it's now the next morning, no heavy bleeding, some cramping, taking it easy today Read More Read Less

I've used the pill & this method already like 5 years ago with a 9weeks pregnancy which was successful...but with this one I'm not sure after taking the meds I had cramps & even diarrhea and passed a tiny clot but no heavy bleeding like the first time I barely spotted after then by today as I'm typing it has stopped & now getting thick discharge the type you get immediately after a periods finish...has anyone experienced this!!Read More Read Less

Hello, yesterday I went through my first miscarriage. My doctor recommended this for me. Honestly it me so hard I started vomiting, feeling cold, and I was in so much pain I was crying so hard. At some points I felt like I had to go to the ER. I called my doctor 4 hours in which I should’ve done in the beginning and she prescribed me with percocets. If it was for that I would still be in pain. I guess some women go through it differently but for me it was one of the worst pains of my life!! But it’s worth it and I’m glad I did it. I started by checking here page after pager for reviews of what I might experience once taking this combo pill. Today is the day after the pills so I can finally leave my honest review. I’ll Start by saying I was 6 weeks and 1 day. I inserted the pills vaginally due to not wanting to have a lot of digestive symptoms and for me I feel like it helped because I only felt the need to almost throw up once when the cramps were intense. So on to the cramps..I was hoping I’d be like some women on her and only experiencing period type pains, I was not. I took the pills around 4:30pm and took nausea meds and 800 mg ibuprofen and 25 mg tramadol 1 hour prior to the insertion. Cramping then didn’t really begin until about 6:30/7:00. I had minor cramps prior but they were bearable. From 7:00-8:30(when I passed the embryo) I had pain I couldn’t even describe. I luckily had my partner here with me to hold my hand, rub my head/feet, and to coach me to getting through the waves of almost constant contractions. Honestly nothing helped them. Gripping his hand, clenching my jaw, and relaxing my body through the waves and breathing. Nothing helped until the sac passed. Once the sac passed it was an almost immediate decrease in the agony I was in for almost 2 hours straight. Pain still was pretty constant until about 10 am the next morning with a little nausea and cramping no more then period cramps with partnering bleeding. I don’t regret it, but I will truly never put myself in that place again. You will get through it but it takes every bit of strength you Have in you. Read More Read Less

I found out I was pregnant the day of my missed period. Based on my medical history and my previous pregnancy I didn’t feel it would be wise for me to continue with the pregnancy. I did a ton of research and I discovered Aid Access. They went over my medical history and sent me the medication right to my door for only $150. Originally I was going to go to planned parenthood but that would’ve cost $500. I was extremely nervous being I have never had an abortion before. I started the first medication right at 5 weeks around 2:30 pm. My original plan was to wait 24 hours to take the medication orally but my anxiety was there the rough. 9 pm that evening ( slightly over the 6 hours window) I took the medication vaginally. Laid down for an hour to be extra sure it did its job. I tried to sleep but was anxious. Around 11:30 I started feeling slight cramps but nothing major by any means. I knew the meds were working so that put me at ease and I actually dozed off. Around 1 am I went to the bathroom and the bleeding began. Almost like peeing blood but out of my vagina. It wasn’t painful by any means. I went back to bed and got up several time in the night to check myself and clean up while sleeping in between bathroom breaks. My cramps were very minimal. Small clots but nothing extreme. It’s now noon the next day and I feel great! Still bleeding but at a slower rate. I had a heat pad but didn’t even need it. I took 4 advil at the beginning and 3 more this morning for precautionary. I truly think my experience wasn’t bad bc I wasn’t far a long so if you know you don’t want to proceed I’d suggest to get the meds asap. Also, vaginally wasn’t scary at all and personally it was nice not having a medication sit in my mouth for 30 mins. I hope this puts someone to ease!!Read More Read Less

I was extremely anxious before taking these meds and wanted to share my experience to ease people’s minds! I was 7 weeks and I took the first pill and had no reaction, maybe the very slightest of tightening around my stomach. 24hrs later I took the second dose of meds, 4 tablets dissolved in my mouth. Before that I took an anti nausea and also 3 double strength nurofen (1200mg) and had my hot water bottle ready. I’m not used to taking painkillers or pharmaceticals so felt a bit woozy from the high dose of nurofen but otherwise ok. About an hr after the tablets dissolved (I kept them in my cheek 15mins longer as they were still intact) I started to get a constant dull ache in my abdomen, it wasn’t bad though and I had my hot water bottle constantly on my pelvis (HIGHLY recommend this). I started to get whole body shaking and went really pale for a while as the pain got worse, but on the whole it was really bareable and I would say was a 7.5/10 when it was stronger. I just kept moving from the couch to the toilet and felt quite dizzy, and out of it while rocking back and forward but overall it was definitely ok and only lasted 2hrs at this intensity. I was also quite thirsty and my mouth hurt a bit from dissolving the tablets (maybe because I’d kept them there longer?) I didn’t bleed much which I was surprised by, I ended up passing two small (maybe 10cent coin sized) clots - which just felt like a normal period bleed - and after the 2hrs of the more intense pain, it went back to the constant dull ache and I started to bleed some more but just slightly more than my regular period. I immediately started to feel better (this was about 3.5/4hrs after taking the meds) and I spent the rest of the day/night on the couch with the hot water bottle, snacking. And the ache became less and less noticeable. I’ve woken up the next morning after a good nights sleep feeling better again, just a little sore in my abdomen. Overall the experience was less bad than I thought it would be! Don’t be terrified! Just have a trusted person with you, your hot water bottle, take the high dose pain killers and do what feels right for you during. YOU CAN DO THIS :) Read More Read Less

Two days ago I went to my 2nd sonogram appointment and am 11 weeks and found out I lost the baby. No explanation on why or how, but my baby we wanted to bad is now gone. I was givin the option for a DNC or the pills at home to pass the miscarriage and baby itself on my own. I was told a DNC could hinder my chances of having another baby so I went with the pills. I took the first dose yesterday and 6 hours after that took the last second dose. After about an hour of the first dose I started cramping, and could feel the contractions. I read horrible scary comments about this medication and I was terrified to do this. But I can say honestly, it's not as bad as the stories I have read. I have passed many many clots and the umbilical cord came out last night. It's a painful sad experience but it's working. No I didn't see the actually baby come out, but seen other things that just broke me. Staying hydrated is key, and adult diapers and a heating pad is my best friend right now. I miss my baby, and didn't even get to name the baby. Waiting on the gender results still but will have some closure I hope when we find out. Whomever may read this, your not alone. And this process is scary and sad, and forces you to grieve faster than some may be ready to. You are strong, and can do this. Read More Read Less

I was 5 weeks 3 days decided to take the abortion pill. I've already got 2 beautiful children and was going through some personal health issues made the decision that my body just couldn't handle this. I didn't tell my family as my mother was going through cancer treatment and didn't want to stress anyone anymore I was glad as with this it's everyone's own choice and you really don't need other people's options. Please if you are considering this don't read the negative reviews the stress and anxiety they caused me was worse then the actual experience. I know everyone is different but for me took the first pill went to work experienced dizziness but nothing that stopped my day not sure if it was due to the pill or my own health. Then 36 hours later on a Friday evening so I had the weekend to recover took the 4 dissolving tablets was scared after the 30 minutes they hadn't dissolved enough and wouldn't work. 1 hour after the dissolving tablets I took my pain relief not due to pain but I was freaked out by other people's reviews 1 and a half hours later I was bleeding the relief I felt at last.
