My Mother just recently nearly died after using this drug nightly for stuffy nose, she has high blood pressure, could be from 35 years of using this stuff daily, her heart stopped and we came so close to loosing her, I thought she had stopped the use of Afrin years ago, was suprised to find she had not and in the end this was the reason for her near death experience. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT...

This product was the worst nasle spray I have ever used. It made my nose more stuffy than it was before I used it. I will never recommed this product to anyone!

Actually I used the Afrin PumpMist but was unable to locate on this site. It did exactly what it claims but the only downside is that I can not taste anything nor smell anything. I am on antibiotics and do not use the Afrin PumpMist but the side affects alone are enough for me to reconsider using it again at this time. We'll have to see how this sick spell turns out.

The druggest recommended this product to me and I went into "Afib" and was hospitalized. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE. I have NEVER had a heart problem before this. I was not "sick enough" to see my Dr. Note: It takes weeks/months to get an appt. "Urgent care is $$$$$$$$ even with insurance." Thank you.

I suffered such heart palpatations that I ended up in the emergency room. I thought for sure something was very wrong. it took the doctors 4 hours to get my heart rate and rhythm back to normal. Use with great caution. As a cardiac nurse I was horrified to find out that one of the side effects is cardiovascular collapse!!!Read labels carefully BEFORE taking any over the counter meds!!

It has given quick relief and lets me sleep without breathing through my mouth. I have tried a couple ways, but this seems to be the best, even over prescription samples given to me by a doctor that deals in sinus problems. also, just as important one time usage in each nasal gives me 12 hours of relief. I now use just the day time afrin, found it does an excellent job at night time also.

I use the generic spray and my congestion and sinus pressure is relieved with it. This is the only thing that works!

afrin will work very well for me until I stop for a day or two then it turns into a gel in the bottom of the bottle stopping up the tubing that it sprays out of. I have used several bottles with the same results.

The GREATEST nasal decongestant ever implemented, even the off-brands. But be CAREFUL do not use for more that 3 or 4 days! You will get REBOUND congestion that's even worse. I used to be addicted quit now i only use it in ragweed season and the middle 3 days of a cold.

I have been addicted to this drug for 9 years. I have tried to stop using it, however it causes severe nasal blockage for weeks on end. The time that I stopped taking it, I went back to it after 2 weeks of not being able to breathe through my nose. This drug should be prescription!

My doctor told me to use this product because I have plugged ears. I didn't feel congested, but he said I was (runny nose should have told me that!). I used it for the perscribed two days and it seemed to help some. I stopped a week ago and my ears are still plugged, so I'll do two days again this week. I think most people don't follow the directions and abuse it's use.

I use this product atleast once a day, and I am quite satisfied with it. I am able to breathe with no side effects. They say not to use this product for more than 3 days, but I have taken other things and nothing beats this. No, I am not addicted to this product unless you call wanting to be able to breathe as addictive!!

Absolutely use only for the prescribed three days! Works very good but is addictive and in my case of using for about 7-10 days/nights, unable to sleep, and anxiety panic type symptoms through the last 4 days/nights. Quit using 48 hours ago and headed for doctor now to figure what to do now!

I honestly don't think afrin is addictive. I just think people are addicted to breathing, after so long of not being able to breathe its a nice change. I had went for sleep study, of course they said I had it well I couldnt keep the mask on because of my sinuses well when I finally got help with my sinuses I didnt have to do the sleep thing anymore.

I have traditionally used a sudaphed type decongestant but was hoping that a nasal spray might be more effective. I feared that I might have a sinus infection but was hoping I didn't. After using the sinus spray I had GREAT discomfort for HOURS - like my sinuses were on fire and were ultra sensitive. Needless to say, I won't take it again if I suspect I might have a sinus infection. It's off to the Doc today to check for a sinus infection.
