I have been using this product for about 4 weeks, you have use a very very thin film of it on your face, if you slather it on like moisturizer, the side effects are worsen. Please use a very thin film of it, very thin that is all you need. Its been working for me, clearing up very nicely and it does sting and itch, but mildly. Nothing in life is easy and sometimes, its worth the mild to moderate s...

BEWARE! Finacea gel and ALL other Rosacea face creams carry warnings of wheezing, tightness of breath but they are not shown high enough on the side effects listings. I have had Rosacea for over 40 years and have used Finacea to treat it for at least the last 10 years. I have had excellent results with no side effects. No other drug worked for me and I tried everything on the market that a doctor could prescribe. After the initial few weeks of treatment the initial stinging goes away. Every time I try to get off the medication the Rosacea comes right back. After restarting the treatment twice a day the Rosacea goes away again. I also see no reduction in effectiveness as the years go by. I highly recommend Finacea for treatment of Rosacea!Read More Read Less

I've been using this for 2 weeks and no progress yet on improving my rosecea. I've read that it takes 4 weeks to show improvement so I'll continue until then. I experience very uncomfortable stinging of my face especially noticeable at night which sometimes makes falling asleep difficult. Additionally, the product is very drying and causes flaking of my skin.

I was breaking out with pustules and iching welts on my face, and I had not changed any products or medications, so I didn't know what was wrong with me. After enduring the itching, burning red face and embarrassment for over two weeks, I made an appointment with my dermatologist. He immediately diagnosed it as Acne Rosacea. He prescribed Finacea and a low dosage of Doxycycline, and I started both medications that evening. The Finacea itched and burned the first couple of nights, but I read those were common side effects. I have been using it for a week now, and my skin looks and feels the best it has in months! I was starting to feel like I would have to live with bad skin the rest of my life, so I am very grateful products like this are on the market!Read More Read Less

My doctor prescribed this when metro gel no longer worked. My skin looks so much better I think I'll stop using makeup. My skin tone is so much more even.

I received a sample of Finacea on my last derm check up. At first I liked the way it absorbed into my skin. A few days into it I notices swelling to the left of my nose....odd. The next day my worst patch of rosacea threw a fit., Red, itchy, blotchy. I thought it was my cleanser. Next day, same reaction only worse. I wanted an alternative to Metrogel. This medication is not for me. It also stings upon application.

This medication has been wonderful for my skin. I am pregnant and having the worse breakouts but prior to me bring pregnant I still was experiencing break outs. Went to the derm and he prescribed me Finacea for the night along with erythomycin for the morning. Been using the products together for two weeks and have seen a total transformation. I would recommend this product to anyone who has hormonal acne or any type of jaw line and cheek or forehead breakouts. Its only been two weeks and my complexion and face is clearing up. Finacea Gel has been the best medication for my terrible rosacea. I'm so embarrassed to go anywhere because of the big red bumps all over my face. I've used Retin A, etc. which didn't work. I can't believe some you people are getting this medication for about $125.00!!! I have to pay $237.00 for a tube...I'm on Medicare and it is NOT covered. I cannot afford the best medication that has helped me; therefore, I just wrote a letter to Bayer asking for financial assistance and asked them if they realized how expensive this medication is. The working people who have "group" insurance are lucky. I feel like I have been penalized for working professionally for 37 years and having to retire due to disability and going on Medicare. How can insurance companies and Medicare let one group of people get this drug for half the price of what I have to pay when they know going on Medicare means we are on a "fixed income"? Hopefully, Bayer Corporation will read my letter carefully and understand that the old people have to go "without" prescription drugs due to the cost! You young people better start NOW and save money for the future to purchase your prescriptions when you go on Medicare! Rosacea is not curable; however, it is treatable with Finacea Gel.Read More Read Less

Been using this for 3 weeks and it appears to be a miracle cure for me. First time in 50+ years that I am actually clear. My history: 50 years of using over the counter stuff, two rounds of Acutane (30 yrs ago) along with 15 years of Tetracycline and then moved to 15+ yrs with Amoxicillin 500mg 2/day, very effective (but long term antibiotic is bad). Metrogel cost with insurance is about $75, not cost effective versus Amoxicillin, Finacea is less than $20 and appears to be the cure I was needing for 50 years. VERY SATISFIED so far!!!Read More Read Less

I have only been using this product for a week and I am loving it! No new breakouts, no itching and some reduced redness. I am so glad I finally went to the dermatologist. I have been living with severe adult acne for over a year now blaming it on everything from stress to peri menopause.

This is a very expensive drug. In my opinion, it is not at all cost effective and doctors should not recommend something that doesn't work. While using it twice a day as prescribed, I've experienced several breakouts of tiny pimples and the redness never subsides.

This medication was prescribed for my 17 year old son who has had an ongoing hair follicle infection on his entire scalp. He was given the cream, put on antibiotics and a special shampoo. It cleared up after a month and when we had the recheck we were told to drop down to washing his hair 3 times a week but to use the gel twice a day so we followed the directions and my sons head is all broken out again but this time he developed an allergic reaction all over his body with red welts on his legs, around his entire neck, on his arms and chest. I stopped the gel but he is still having a reaction to this cream. I am taking him to the doctor today. He also experienced massive anxiety and tightness in his chest. He is allergic to this cream from using it for 3 months and now we are back to square one with his break out. I didn't find it very easy to treat the entire scalp and I had to shave most of his hair off :( The gel also made him itch, made the skin burn so no more of this stuff DONE!!! I might even change doctors too.Read More Read Less

I am 61 with very oily skin. I have been battling swelling, clogged pores, and breakouts for over 50 years. In one week, my skin looks better. No side effects at all, could be because my skin is so oily.

BEWARE! Finacea gel and ALL other Rosacea face creams carry warnings of wheezing, tightness of breath but they are not shown high enough on the side effects listings. I have had a bad year with unexplained wheezing. My doctor had no knowledge of this side effect and had me investigated for old age onset of asthma. The test was negative. Web searches revealed this side effect and I tested myself with time on and time off the Gel. No question. I have stopped Finacea and my wheezing has gone. Coughing has caused bladder leakage and strain as well as a neck trauma. In order to sleep and not cough I used three pillows and not my normal two one night. Next day the resulting 'crick' in the neck increased to full-on trembling from pain shock. A doctor came out on Saturday and prescribed heat/diazepam/strong painkillers. Nerve and cartilage/ligament strain has kept me in pain and misery for several days now. That face creams can be absorbed at such a level as to influence breathing is extraordinary, even with a 50% dosage reduction. I am now smoothing in gentle Arnica instead. Read More Read Less

its been about 2 weeks since I started using Finacea. So far so good after years of searching I feel like I have finally found the right product minus the sting and itch when 1st applied. The Redness and acne are noticeably decreasing. I have had mild-moderate acne rosacea for about 10 years and for the 1st time I have hope!! I will continue to use it.

The product caused excessive burning and stinging requiring that I discontinue using it intermittently. My dermatologist told me about a new product for rosacea called PyratineXR and I have been using this product along with Finacea ever since with no or little irritation and better results.
