My OBGyn did not want to prescribe this to me as he is anti-HRT. However, as sex in my late 50s was becoming more and more painful and no amount of lube in a tube was helping, I insisted so he gave in. Hallelujah, sex doesn't hurt anymore. Yes, there's discharge (just like the old days - I consider that a benefit) and minor breast tenderness. My two beefs are these: predatory pricing (latest scrip...

I have been struggling with vaginal dryness and painful intercourse for many years now. Used on and off various treatments. Used Premarin vag. cream 2 times a week for awhile, did help a bit was still had mild pain with intercourse. I recently decided to experiment on my own. I have been using a small amount every day for about 2 weeks now and I am very surprised, my libido seems to be awesome and no pain!! Going to continue to use small amounts every day and see how it goes. 9/10/2017

ANY COMPOUND PHARMACY: Makes this comparable cream for $25 to $50. Call your pharmacy first and ask him what he needs from your Doc. Mine told me to have the RX of Estradiol 1ml inserted vag. and the Doc decides the frequency. OMG SAVE THE MONEY!!! When we all do this the price will come down.

The applicator is a joke. First you have to be Houdini to get it unwrapped. It doesn't thread onto the tube well and has to be held while trying to squeeze the tube at the same time. The plunger is too small. Most of the cream remains in the tube.

Yes, there's discharge (just like the old days - I consider that a benefit) and minor breast tenderness. My two beefs are these: predatory pricing (latest script cost $343) - a 300% increase in 3 years! we are subsidizing their expensive tv campaigns, because the product is no different. 2nd beef: half the cream (I use .5 1x a week) is left behind in the tube. Why can't they come up with a better applicator? I too have had intermittent problems with the product continuing to push out of the tube after I've completed a dose, which also wastes product. I wrote to them and got a form letter reply. Write your congressman to complain about the pricing. I'm continuing using it, as I know of no other alternative.Read More Read Less

I had given up on having sex ever again because the pain was unbearable. The skin inside my vagina would rip and bleed. But then I started premarin cream. For one month I took the lowest dose. Then increased it twice a week and now take the highest dose twice weekly. I cant believe the difference. I'm a new woman with a new libido. The meds (5 tubes) cost me nothing because I make under a certain amount of money. You can apply for assistance from the company. Oh and no side effects for me.

As far as easing the vaginal dryness, it works great. The only side effect I've noticed is hair loss. Not at first but the sides of my head around the temple area are receding there. I'm losing hair. The only thing I can attribute to it is the Premarin cream. I have been hypothyroid for 19 years

This medication made my hair thin considerably. It is one of the side effects. Stopped taking it- after paying $200 ( and that was with every discount possible provided!) very unhappy and still dealing with painful intercourse ??

My GYN prescribed an estrogen cream made by a compounding pharmacy instead of name brands. Only had to pay $25 for a tube that is supposed to last 3 months. Just started a week ago. Agree about the applicator being uncomfortable to use.

This treatment has been helpful since using about 9 months ago, however I just had a mammo and after no changes in breast tissue for 15 years I now have to go for more imaging because breast tissue is showing up more dense than previous imaging, so will see if this is the cause and what my next step will be. Not very happy about this.

I just started using Premarin 1 month ago. My first horrible experience was the price 265.00 for a very small tube! I am on Medicare but I have insurance and they paid a very small amount. I paid 265.00 out of pocket!!! I am 67 years old just lost my job 2 years ago and trying to survive on Social Security and my retirement from my previous job of 31 years!! How do drug companies sleep at nighttime???????????

The cream continues to come out of the tube after I have put the amount needed into the cylinder. There is a lot of waste and the copy is $47. It seems to me that you could design a tube that did not do this. Estrace cream does not continue to come out. Ask that company how they do it. My insurance will not pay for that brand otherwise I would switch back.

Do yo where the main ingredient comes from? Pregnant mares, it's their urine. Just like to let you know what you are putting on your body.

I do not use this medication but work in an office that prescribes it quite frequently. This is for the ladies that are complaining about the applicator. Please, throw that away!! We recommend using your finger to administer the medication. Put a small ribbon on your pointer finger from the first crease outward like you would toothpaste on a tooth brush. Rub into vaginal area after you bathe so that it doesn't wash off. This will help with the uncomfortable feeling of the applicator as well as wasting so much of the medication. Hope this helps.Read More Read Less

I was fine for the first few days and then noticed I could not concentrate and I was so confused about everything. Could not differentiate between dreams and reality. Had a hard time putting my thoughts together as if everything I ever knew was all jumbled up in a big ball of confusion. I will call my doctor tomorrow.

I started on Premarin cream about 2 weeks ago. The first dose I misread the tube and gave myself 2 gram instead of the one gram prescribed--I knew the next morning because of one heck of a headache. I didnt take it again for several days but still developed breast tenderness. When I restarted, I changed the dose to 0.5 G twice a week--breast tenderness is manageable and my vaginosis disappeared after the second dose. I do feel mildly bloated, but, working out in the gym has actually helped that--treadmill and stationary bike. I also increased dietary fiber and though I know it shouldn't have helped, it seemed to. I had already started taking L. bacillus probiotics orally too. I am 62 and the reason I started to take this medication is because after ten years of celibacy I've actually met someone though we've not done anything yet due to my extremely thin and atrophied ladybits. Going to keep taking this med for a few more weeks on this dose/interval then try. I am very happy with this vaginal cream.Read More Read Less

Medication is fine. Air in the package prevents accurate dosage and a lot of product gets wasted because it continues to run out. Pfizer will reimburse you, but one time only.

After a month using Premarin Cream I broke out in giant hives. I also had sore swollen breasts and pelvic pain. It did not help my vaginal burning. Olive oil worked!

PLEASE READ!!! Most people don't realize where this med comes from. It comes from pregnant mare urine, hence the name-PREgant MARe urINe. These animals are kept tied up in a small stall for most of their pregnancy so that their urine can be collected. They receive just enough care possible to get the manufactuers what they want-then the foals are killed so that the mare will come into heat faster. These animals suffer greatly. There are other options available-please check them out and help these beautiful animals.Read More Read Less

I couldn't agree more with previous reviewers Asig and Heather. The applicator needs to be redesigned as it is blunt and catches on delicate vaginal tissue. I dread each application for that factor alone. And then Heather's review is right on...I'm using my first tube right now, and there was a massive air bubble in it! I thought I had half a tube left, and after the air bubble, I have barely enough for maybe 2-3 more applications. Thank goodness my RX is up for refill next week, but as expensive as this cream is, the consumer should get the full amount of product. It does work, so I will continue it, but the applicator and air bubble situation needs to be addressed. I've already contacted Wyeth about the applicator, and I am headed to their website right now to email them about the air bubble situation. This just isn't right. I am appreciative of Heather for her usage tips concerning using a little less than the prescribed amount and then using the cream that continues to squirt out of the tube for the remaining amount needed. If I hadn't read her review first, I would have run out way before now.Read More Read Less

I used the premarin cream for over 3 years with zero improvement and results. My problem is all that is described in the tv ads and this product did nothing to improve my vaginal tissue sensitivities. Only increased my cancer risk. False advertising.....
