Started taking sotalol after it was used to convert me from atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm. Dr. prescribed 80 mg twice a day. It lowered my blood pressure too low and slowed my heart down too much, and I was constantly tired and exhausted and lightheaded. So the doctor cut my dosage down to 40 mg twice a day. I have been taking it for two months now with no re-occurrences of atrial fibril...

I have ihss and I want to know if I should be taking this. My cardiologist up North, said I should not take this. But I am IN fl., and the cardiologists said I should. I was taking atenenol 25mg in the morning and 25mg at night. But only take the sotalol.

I have been on this for about one year. 320 mg a day. I still have some Afib. I have an ICD implant. Only had one time that I have been shocked 5 times. This med does make me tired and out of breath. This drug has only got my heart rate between 60-70 bpm. I was born with one kidney and this is the only drug that is less harmful on the kidney. I'm 57. I can not work with this condition and the meds any more.

Had Afib for many years able to self convert. Started Sotolol Oct 2013 after 2nd cardioversion so far so good with effectiveness. have little appetite, loss of libido, very sleepy,no energy, apathetic, short of breath on exertion. Pill is very biter, burns horribly if it gets stuck in throat. Is controling symptoms very well with only very short episodes of Afib on exertion. Sleep a lot. It works and am not a candidate for ablation

This drug eliminates approximately 80% of my afib issues. Before taking this drug, I had to go to the ER for meds to stop afib issues. I have a pacemaker/defibrillator and use a cpap machine. All these in partnership are helping to greatly reduce afib. I experience no side effects from this drug.

Lowered my heart rate so that I had less stamina than with AF. Added a pacemaker and am as good as new. Strongly recommend this medication with a pacemaker if necessary.

I take 80mg of sotalol which works for the rapid heart rate, but I am tired the whole day. I have also gained weight, which will effect my diabetes. Have to talk to my doctor next week.

My afib was rare and sports induced until made worse by adrenalen. Sleep apnea was a bigger but related problem. Sotalol reduced me to 40 BPM. I can no longer run or walk fast or exercise stenuously. I am unable to exercise enough to reduce my weight. This is a catch 22 so I am inclined to wean off the drug until AFIB recurs. I think my AFIB and sleep apnea would largely go away if my weight were less. Comments appreciated.

I have been on this drug for 2 weeks after switching from Multaq because of the expense. The side effect I am experiencing is low pulse rate (40 to 49) which leaves me weak and light headed. I have not had reoccurrence of A-Fib - both when taking Multaq and Sotalol.

I had a cardioversion for a fib, didn't convert me. Started on Sotalol 80mg twice/day, converted to NSR 1 week later. Now just occasional PAF. Does make me tired but better than being in AF.
