Just started this medication this week for a current sinus/bronchial infection. Used it before with great results! Just a note: eat 2 yogurts a day while on ANY antibiotic!! one in am-one in pm. Antibioics kill ALL bacteria including the 'good' bacteria that lives in the intestines/stomach. This leads to diarrhea, cramping, etc. Choose yogurt with 'live bacteria cultures' and eat 2 x a day until ...

i took this medication before finding out i was pregnant with my son in 1998. he was born with congenital heart disease, has had 3 open heart surgeries, is autistic, has a seizure disorder and many other health issues. DO NOT take this medication if you think you might be pregnant!

Effective, but kept me flushed and tired. Could not sleep at night. Woke up every two to three hours. Have to work so need my rest. Anxious and easily irritated. Job is physical so I cannot work well. No stomach upset and no bad taste in mouth but severe headaches and I never get them normally. Am going to change to something else.

My wife was diagnosed with pneumonia and was prescribed Biaxin. Within a few hours she experienced hyperventilating, shortness of breath, anxiety, and hallucinations. The effects worsened over the next few days. Sweats, slurred speech, headaches, dizziness, cramps, and diarrhea. Not only was this a terrible experience for for my wife...it was a terrible experience for her family. This drug should be taken off the market and the pharmaceutical companies that make it should be held accountable! Do not take this drug! Read More Read Less

I had a sinus buildup for about 3 wks. I was clearing up the next day after starting this med. I had very little nausea and no other side effects. I really like the effectiveness and speedy recovery it gave me.

I have cared for 2 different people, one male-45, one female 87...both with H-PYLORI. They had different doctors & were treated 3 years apart, but both were prescribed the same medications. Both patients became violently ill. The male had vomiting, diarrhea, head pain, taste problems, stomach cramps, very rapid heart beat, dizziness & ringing in the ears. The female had all the same symptoms as the male along with confusion, anxiousness, twitches of whole body, lost all normal color in the face and on arms, and hallucinations. The female has angina and had to take a few nitro pills to calm her heart. The male was a bit concerned, but the female was worried, scared and crying...she was terrified & and said she thought she was going crazy and that she felt like she was someone else looking through her eyes, which seeing would be very difficult for her because she is almost blind from Macular Degeneration. The male had only taken the drug for 3 days before the trouble started which only lasted 26 hours. The female had been taking the meds for 5 days before the side effects showed up & has so far lasted 32 hours and has no signs of halting...she is still having trouble. If the doctor can't get it to subside, she will go to the ER. In both cases the meds were stopped immediately. This is not a drug that I care to ever give to another person again. It should be taken off the market. In my oppinion, it is tomuch of a coincidence that the only 2 people that I know that has ever taken this drug have a such bad reactions to it. It is much to dangerous to be prescribed so freely.Read More Read Less

I was given this drug for sinus infection/bronchitis and walking pneumonia (all at once). At first I was just slightly naseaus and had a bad taste in my mounth. After the 2nd day of treatment I got severly nauseaus that I couldn't stop vomiting and wound up in the ER as I couldn't breath because the medicine hadn't worked (couldn't keep it down). They had to completely flush my system out, on IV for 12 hours before it was out of my system. I will NEVER go on this medicine again. Now on omnicef and its working with no side effects.Read More Read Less

I get very severe and painful sinus infections about 4 times a year and this seems to be the only prescription that works for me and works FAST! I notice a dramatic difference in 12 hours. This is the 4th time I have been on this medication and the first time that I have been experiencing insomnia...but I'll take that over a sinus infection!

This pill tasts bad. I don't mean when you take it but for up to five hours after you take it I had a really bad taste in my mouth. I also had hot flashes. I would consider asking you Dr. for any alternative.

I cut my dose in half and it made the side effects tolerable. The taste in my mouth isn't as bad and it seems to be working for me, I will just have to take it longer.

This is day 3 and I am so sick, it is worse than the bronchitis I am being treated for! Horrible stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, the shakes, heart palpitations, horrible taste, anxiety attacks, depression and weird dreams. I will never take this again.

I was shocked by this diagnosis, but after 4 months of illness with extreme coughing, I was thrilled to be prescribed this medication. Complications of pnemonis, bronchitis and flu were treated, but not strong enough to treat whooping cough. The bad taste was minor compared to the illness and I felt no other side effects. Happy !!!

I'm not sure if this medicine is actually killing my tummy infection. I can say that the side effects are HORRIBLE. Terrible stomach cramps, terrible diarrea, terrible taste in mouth even hours after taking dose.

This drug works great. It cleared up my sinus infection right away. However like most of the previous comments it leaves a nasty bitter taste in your mounth and does effect your sleep with weird dreams.

I have only taken three doses of the oral suspension so far, due to difficulty swallowing pills. It is like swallowing liquid asprin, and if the taste isn't bad enough, I have had vivid dreams and nightmares, and difficulty sleeping. I also had heart palpitations. Not sure if I want to continue with this drug-have had to force myself to take each dose, and chase it down with tons of liquid and some food, but the metallic taste doesn't seem to go away. I'm also very tired. Will see what the Dr. says on Monday.Read More Read Less

I had to take this drug for two weeks, but i stopped after the first 3. This medicine is so nasty, and makes you really sick. You can hardly concentrate on anything, it makes you so nauseated and sick, not to mention severe stomach pains. I would rather die, than to take this pill. Avoid it, if you can.

This medicine tastes Horrible for hours and hours. I tried taking it with food and it still makes me really hot and have to throw up and I feel like I am going to pass out. It helped the infection but I am so sick when I take it that I cant decide if I want to take it anymore or not.

After taking this medication for 2 days I developed severe flu like symptoms that had me in bed for another 2 days. I am having hot flashes and chest pain as I write this. A week wasted and not feeling better, but worse. And I am a single mother of 2! I am warning others- DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THIS MEDICATION unless you have a week to stay in bed.

My dr. told me right off the bat that this medication would taste awful and that she recommends taking it with skittles or chocolate to help get rid of the taste. im allergic to 4 of 5 classes of antibiotics and so far this is going ok. I do itch some but its not unbearable and sleeping is a little restless but its better than infected eardrums. Very few drugs come with no side effects so im please with this so far because hey, its not sent me to the emergency room with breathing problems.

I was given this as a pre-med before Dental work for my heart condition SVT. Not even 15 minutes after taking this I was Dizzy, Hot Flashes with sweats, Tachycardic and then I began to Vomit Uncontrolably while feeling like I would pass out at any minute. This all happened in the Dentist's office. It caused Tachycardia which I already have to deal with. Thank God I took my heart med before this stuff.
