After 4 years (and several other medications) of only averaging 2-3 hours sleep every 2-3 days (Obviously omitting periods of extreme fatigue hospitaliztions when drug induced sleep was used). My Dr. told me to try the 3mg version of Lunesta. From the first day and for almost 3 months now I have averaged 7-9 hours sleep every day feeling totally refreshed and rested and with 10 times the energy I ...

I HATE LUNESTA. I took the medication one night and i withdrawled. It made me feel so depressed and down i cannot explain. And that taste in my mouth felt like whatever i drank or ate has chemicals in it. I absolutely have nothing to say about this. It made my body feel tired but not my mind. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING THIS EVER.

This medication did help me to wake up feeling more rested but the lapse of short term memory later in the evening after taking the med was frightening

I take the 3mg at night. I've had trouble sleeping for many years. I am amazed at how well it works. I swear its a miracle drug. I fall asleep within half an hour and sleep atleast 6-7 hours a night w/ out waking up. I see that a lot of people experience a nasty taste in their mouth, but I havent had that problem with the medicine. I wake up feel refreshed and don't feel as if I need to go back to bed for another 2 hours. I have to say I'm shocked at how well this has worked for me and very happy with the results.Read More Read Less

I agree with the other reviewer. I just got this prescription, took it one night and had the most awful metallic/tinny tast in my mouth that lasted ALL day. Nothing I drank or ate would take care of it. It even made plain ice water taste bad! I'm very hesitant to take it again, may have to request a different solution.

I hated this medication. I had been taking Ambien and my sleep specialist requested me trying Lunestra. I lost a whole weekend. I had difficulty waking up and felt really dizzy and sick for 2 days. I literally could not function the whole weekend waiting for this drug to wear off. I felt over medicated. This was accompanied by a horrendous headache lasting 2 days. Awful stuff.

Hi I have had insomnia for many years and Lunesta is the first Rx sleep medication that has worked well for me with almost no side effects. When I take it with time to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep I wake up rested, do not feel drugged or fuzzy. The only side effect I experienced happened only twice in the many times I have used this medication and it was a minor effect causing a bad taste in my mouth and making some foods and beverages taste off. I don't take it every night but when I do I can count on it to help me get the rest I need. Read More Read Less

I have taken prednisone for 15 years as part of my treatment for lupus, and have had problems with insomnia the entire time I've been on the steroids. I've also tried various prescription sleeping pills. Worried about their habit forming side effects, I tried Lunesta 3 mg. Some nights it worked, some nights it didn't. For "regular" insomnia, this will likely be effective - for those of us on steroids, I'm not sure there's an effective product out there.

Works perfect for me, if i only have 6 hours to sleep or 8 hours, i wake up refreshed and with no hangover feeling. Only down side is NO GENERIC! Way to Expensive! $4.66 ea pill. Need it to be lower priced.

This is by far the best sleeping pill I've ever used. The problem of the horrible taste it leaves made me stop using it and go back to Ambien.

This particular medication leaves the worst after taste in the morning. It was so nauseous I stopped using it even though it was very effective for sleep.

My experience with Lunesta was a nightmare! Terrible dreams were nightly events. It was a toss and turn type of"try to sleep" trauma. The horrible taste in my mouth was similiar to what a bad septic tank would smell. Thank goodness I had a physician who would listen to me and changed me to Ambien. Whenever I view the Lunesta moth, I react with a sick stomach at the thought of the drug. My report on Lunesta would be a flat ZERO!

After a lifetime of chronic insomnia (unable to fall asleep), I started taking daily doses of Ambien. Two years ago my insurance carrier wouldn't cover Ambien so I switched to Lunesta. I am prescribed 2 mg but split the tablets and take 1 mg most nights. I usually fall asleep within 1/2 hour, but after 2 years I now often wake up after just 5-6 hours of sleep. I could just be getting older!

This rx left a bad taste in my mouth when I first started taking it, but it doesn't bother me any more, but I've stared having problems with memory loss. Not sure if this is normal.
