Was given phenergan IV in hospital. VERY hard on your veins and if you have a sensitive IV site, using this med more than a couple of times will likely cause the IV site to fail or infiltrate, causing a new IV site to be found. The exception is when the nurse gives this drug, they need to 1) dilute it with saline--very important and 2) administer it SLOWLY. This is a very painful drug in your I...

It worked fine at curing my nausea but interacted with my SSRIS, which I informed them of, making me a nervous wreck for the next 24-48 hours, and then 5 days later the injection site became numb and tender, absolutely not worth it, just ask for Zofran if you're nauseous.

Given a shot of Phenergan in right buttock as a "precaution" against nausea before a steroid injection. Severe pain in back, side, and hips still persists after 3 weeks and a hard lump is present where I got the injection. This medication should be banned as an injection. Caused more damage that what I was being treated for.

A month and a half ago I was admitted in the hospital for vomiting and nausea. The ambulance had to come and of course I was admitted all in the end I have been vomiting for about 23 hours they said that they cannot give me any more nausea medication because it could have made my heart explode. Really all of it sounded odd because vomiting for 23 hours definitely put strain on your heart as well. But when I originally came in they gave me a small shot of Phenergan on my left shoulder mind you it's been a month and a half later and my left shoulder is numb and painful. I have never had issues with getting vinegar in either IV a shot or taking it orally I have Crohn's disease and really that's the only thing that works. It could be that the hospital I was at OSU East is absolutely the worst hospital in this world and that they just didn't know what they were doing I don't know but a month and a half later this should not still be an issue I was hoping on here that I would find an answer as to how long this will last and I googled it and the only thing that really came up was for vaccines. All I know is I cannot wait for this to heal because of shoulder slap absolutely kills me.Read More Read Less

Went to ER almost 2 weeks ago for kidney infection. They gave the the injection in my thigh to help with my vomiting due to the kidney infection. It burned so bad when they injected it and now half my thigh is numb with pain to my knee. Remind you it’s been almost 2 weeks.

I'd been dizzy and nauseated for a week and a half and went to my regular Botox appointment for my migraines, which were likely the culprit as the Botox is helping again. I told the doctor that I'd taken Zofran for my nausea an hour before and that it didn't seem to be working. So she offered me the injection after my treatment and of course I said yes. I'd had phenergan before with no issues but never as an injection. The nurse asked where I wanted it: shoulder or buttocks. I asked if it'd be sore like a tetanus shot and she said probably not but there was a chance. I chose my left arm just in case. I'm glad I did because it has been five days and my arm is pretty useless. It hurts to move it way beyond the injection site. It was injected very high on my shoulder and the pain goes into my neck and down to my hand. The pain kept me awake a few nights. The doctor told me I'd feel better after the weekend. I actually found these reviews because I'd been researching how long this would last but everything that came up was for vaccines. I don't know about feeling better after the weekend :-/ There's no sign of anything wrong with my arm on the outside. It looks totally normal. Either the nurse injected it poorly and it hit a nerve or it's the medicine itself. I won't be getting this as an injection again either way. But it took care of the nausea for a day.Read More Read Less

So the good news is it took my nausea away. The bad news is I got the shot on Friday night at the er for severe nausea, it was super painful by the way he put the injection in my right lower back. He did it fast and it burned so bad I didn't even feel the toradol (?) shot in my other side. I didn't even feel him touching my side or the needle. I got home that night and laid on the couch. I couldn't move, I told my fiance like I can't get off the couch I felt so heavy. So I slept there and woke up ok. Worked all day and then the next morning when I woke up, I put my shorts on and felt pain where the shot was. Went and looked in the mirror and there is a five inch long swollen area where the injection went and it huuuuuurts. Now I'm seeing it should have been diluted so next time, I'll definitely remember that. Read More Read Less

This was given to me by injection in my shoulder and it hurt like hell. Afterwards I could barely lift my arm. It's now four days later and my arm still is very very tender and hurts if it gets touched. I have tattoos so I can't tell if there's any bruising or not. I was also given zofran so I'm not sure which was more effective for my nausea and vomiting. I've been doing research to see if this is normal and I haven't seen anybody else with the same experience as me.

The shot hurts like hell going in but nothing else I tried helps my chronic nausea and vomiting! The pill and suppository form does not work for me. I'm so thankful that I got an ex for this

Used medication prior to sailing only. Extremely helpful in eliminating sea sickness. Much more enjoyable cruise experience. Only needed to take it on first two days. After that i was fine.

I've had this in an IV and in pill form and never had any problem with it. However, the injection hurt an awful lot more than I expected and left fairly significant bruises and knots on my arms. If you can get it in IV or pill, I would stick with that unless there is a medical reason you must have the injectable.

I had a stomach virus, and since I had been vomiting and was still nauseous I was given a shot in my arm..I burned terribly, i literally shook and screamed while she was injecting the shot, and she said unfortunately yes it did burn..the nausea did subside, however it's been over a week and my arm still hurts. The lump at the injection site is gone but it is still extremely sore to the touch...If it doesnt stop soon, I'm going to have to go back to see if they can offer me something for the pain and make sure there is no additional damageRead More Read Less

Phenergan and Demerol injected together is the only thing that brings me any relief with my migraines. I have had them for many years, have taken a variety of medications to prevent/ treat them and at this point it is the ONLY solution. The nurse who administers the injection is very important--she always gives it slowly and massages the area gently afterwards. I have had many shots and few reactions. I'm very thankful to have treatment available.
