Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

My knee pain is chronic and I had hoped that the euflexxa would help relieve some of the daily pain. I'd estimate about a 25% reduction in pain, with the nost significant reduction coming after the first shot. Unexpectedly, I experienced some significant lower back pain (I've never had a back problem in my life!) Based on the back discomfort, I wouldn't have done the shots, as the trade off of knee pain for back pain wasn't worth it.

I had my first series of shots over a yr. ago. It was wonderful! I could walk with out any pain. The pain is back and I'm starting my second series of shots this week. I can't wait for the relief. I'm using this to hold off having my knee replaced as I'm a letter carrier and very active. The shot does sting a lot when you get it even though my dr. freezes the injection site. With out this drug, I would have had to have knee replacement over a yr. ago.

The knee pain that I had before this series of shots was so much better than the extreme pain that I have now. The muscle aches and cramping are horrible. The worst pain is in my calf and behind my knee. By the end of the work day, my leg aches from the hip to the ankle. The doctor tells me that it's not from the shot, but I haven't had this much pain in the ten years that I have had this knee problem. I wish that someone could tell me how long I can expect this to last. Im ready to have this leg cut off.Read More Read Less

After using synvisc previously, I was told that this works better. I noticed no significant progress with Euflexxa, and sleeping and standing hurts still.

I am a 26 year old female, jRA since 4 yrs old. I rcved my 2nd shot today. The first one was pretty bad, the shot itself hurt and my knees had hurt in general fairly badly. Today was my2nd shot and it was much better. They hurt right now, but not nearly as badly, but it's a different kind of pain.. hard to describe. The backs of my legs are tender as well. I seem to be moving a bit more freely. I am sincerely hoping this is a good sign.

I will not recommend Euflexxato anyone. I had my third shot a few days ago, and I'm in constant excrusiating pain specially when I bend my knees. I went to see my doctor. She wanted to give me a cotozone shot for the pain which I refused. I am now applying Voltaren get to my knee four times a day. It seems to have help some. I hope as time progresses the pain will subside.

The next day after my first injection, I suddenly received a sharp pain in the lower back thigh above the knee that I rec'd surgery. I could not bend my knee without receiving excruciating pain. I called the Dr.'s office and was told to ice my leg and to keep moving it. This is a big set back. I will not receive any more injections. I was progressing until this shot. I had asked the Dr. if there were any side effects and he had said no. I guess everybody different but this treatment is not for me. Read More Read Less

I WONDERED WHAT I HAD DONE TO MY BACK TO MAKE IT FLARE UP AGAIN ...TODAY AFTER MY THIRD INJECTION WAS CAUSING A LOT OF TIGHTNESS BEHIND MY KNEE AND GENERAL KNEE PAIN I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND IT CAUSES BACK PAIN. I HAVE NOT HAD MY BACK BE THIS SORE SINCE RECOVERING FROM SURGERY. IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY OF BACK PAIN AVOID THIS DRUG!!! PLUS MY KNEE FEELS AWFUL.

I expected a miracle cure, but didn't get it. However, I have noticed marked improvement in my mobility and in pain relief. I would do it again.

I reviewed this after my 2nd injection and now a mo after the 3rd. DO NOT GET THIS my pain now is excruciating. I wish they could just suck out what they injected. NEVER NEVER again! The dr seems to be out of town and won't refill pain med says to go to ER. I know what is causing the pain why should I go to ER for 8hrs. I'll never see this dr again nor will I use Euflexxa.

I am 57 year female and had my first injection of the set given to me by the doctors assistant. The first shot was fine, second a little worse and the third week's one has caused a lot of tightness on the back of my leg. It REALLY hurts to do anything. I am worse off than ever. I am really disappointed that no one references this. It has really impaired my daily life to the extent that I am unable to be on my feet for more than 5mins. Please have the FDA look inti it again and have the company reimburse the patients the huge amount of $$$ paid out of pocket for this as the insurance does not cover it, not to mention the money spent for each service rendered to get the shot. I only did them on the doctors recommendation, Was he paid to promote this product by the company??? Or was it an untrained person giving the shots?? Please do not get htese shots if you have a choice.Read More Read Less

After the first shot (in both knees)the Dr. was correct when he said it would hurt worse, and it probably wouldn't do any good. The second shot was a piece of cake, with no apparent side effects. After the third shot my knees got much worse with a huge lump at the injection site and sore tight muscles along the top of my knee and around the back of my lower thigh. That was a month ago, and the swelling has subsided a little, but the additional pain and tightness has continued. I have found that wet heat treatments above the knee for about 15 minutes twice a day helps. Also ice on the knee and lower where the original pain was also helps. I am disturbed that there was no mention of side effects in the Euflexxa literature that I was given. Also my Dr. said that it would help the knee pain and wouldn't hurt anything. This hurts!! I am reporting this to the FDA, and complaining to my Dr. for whatever that is worth.Read More Read Less

Just had my second injetion today and so far I am limping more than ever and having pain in my knee that my dr seems to think I am faking. The injections themselves are not painful but the after pain is unbelievable. I am icing and resting but it still hurts like crazy. Will go the whole course of trmt to give it a chance but if this is typical won't do it again.

After the first shot I was able to crawl on the floor at my work. After the last shot in my right knee I got hard lumps in my leg under and on the inside of my leg over the knee. I don't know what that means.

I'm 63 and have osteoarthritis of the right knee. The knee is bent about several degrees as a result of a ski accident when I was young. Several weeks ago I had my second series of injections of Euflexxa. The first series more than six months ago worked wonders. I enjoy running and skiing. With Euflexxa I am able to continue doing these activities I love. This year I have participated in many road races which have included two marathons and several half marathons. Along with the Euflexxa, I do weight training and flexibility exercises. My doctor says I'm apparently doing the right things. I'm really amazed at what I've been able to accomplish and how good I feel. Read More Read Less

This treatment did not help my knee pain, period. The injections were painful, although that may be the nurse's fault, and she stabbed bony structures, and probed around during the injection. The pain never diminished, for me, and I still face knee surgery. Additional swelling and inflammation were the results I had with this medication. I'm sure it works for other people, but for those in my condition (2 past meniscectomies), I doubt that it is at best a very temporary palliative.
