Joseph Glenmullen, MD

Joseph Glenmullen, MD, received his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Brown University in 1972. Between college and medical school, he spent two years traveling extensively in North America, the Pacific, and Europe. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, he trained in psychiatry at Harvard's Cambridge Hospital. Since finishing his training, he has spent more than a decade on the Harvard faculty where he is a clinical instructor in psychiatry. In addition, he is a psychiatrist at the Harvard University Health Services where he treats Harvard students, faculty, and staff. He also maintains a private practice in Harvard Square.

Glenmullen has worked as a freelance writer and editor, scripting video programs in medicine and allied health fields. He worked with the founding group to establish the literary magazine Boston Review. He has written several books including the acclaimed Sexual Mysteries. Glenmullen lives with his wife and three children in Cambridge, Mass.
