Katherine Brooking, MS, RD

Katherine Brooking is a registered dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition education from Columbia University. She is dedicated to helping people have better health and live richer lives through sound nutrition and good lifestyle choices.

She a frequent nutrition contributor to top-tier national morning shows including Today, The Early Show on CBS, The Dr. Oz Show, and Good Morning America Health. She also appears on dozens of local affiliate stations across the country.

As a writer covering health and wellness topics, Brooking has contributed to SELF Magazine, Prevention, Cooking Light and Woman’s Day and other leading news publications including The Washington Post, Huffington Post, and New York Daily News.

Her first book, The Real Skinny: Appetite for Health’s 101 Fat Habits & Slim Solutions, provides real-world, practical “slim solutions” to help readers lose weight and keep it off for good.

Brooking’s blog, AppforHealth.com, produces daily nutrition and fitness content.

Before working in communications, Brooking had a private nutrition practice in Manhattan and was the exclusive registered dietitian for the health service at Columbia University Medical School. She received her clinical nutrition training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT. Brooking also holds a master’s degree in international studies from Columbia University.

Brooking lives in the New York area with Ollie and Jack, two of the world's finest canines.
