Unusual skin bump, spot, or growth

Most bumps, spots, and growths do not cause problems. They often stay the same or even go away on their own. Treatment is usually not needed. If you are embarrassed by how a spot looks or the location of the spot, you may be able to cover it with makeup.

Some skin bumps, spots, or growths are more likely than others to change into a form of skin cancer. It is important to recognize these types of skin changes and treat them early. Compare your skin spot to the ABCDEs of melanoma camera to determine whether you should call your doctor for an examination.
