Steve Mitchell has been writing about medicine and science for more than
seven years. Before joining WebMD, he served as the Washington correspondent
for Reuters Health, covering the Food and Drug Administration, the National
Institutes of Health, and other medical organizations and institutes in the
nation's capital.
As a freelancer, Mitchell wrote for numerous medical publications, including
the medical journal The Lancet and the NIH magazine the NCRR Reporter.
He holds a master of science in physiology from the Medical College of Virginia
and a bachelor of science in biology from Virginia Tech. He lives in
Washington, D.C., with his dog, Coltrane.
