It was very effective for my depression. I saw significant symptom improvement in about one month after I started taking it. Before I started taking it I did have some minor insomnia and it did make it worse. I also had some slight anxiety, but it went away after a few weeks. I've been taking NatureMade Sam-e for depression for over 15yrs. I was introduced to it by my employer's wife, suffers with severe depression. She said that it had made a huge difference in her life. I was on effexor for abt 18 mos for my depression which worsened considerable with the onset of menopause to a point where it became very debilitating.
