Have been having terrible hot flashes for more than four months. They occur three or four times an hour throughout the day, and then on into the night making getting a good night's sleep almost impossible. I tried both magnesium and sage, both touted as remedies for hot flashes, neither did anything at all. But within 4 days of me trying Black Cohosh, my hot flashes began to lessen. Within 2 weeks...

Black cohosh got rid of ALL MY MENOPAUSAL symptoms within weeks...HOWEVER had to phase off completely because bleeding HEAVILY again, severe exhaustion and headaches began taking over...Sooooo disappointed...have to weigh now how long I’ll be using and when to phase off completely at 20 mg twice daily... have to find correct dose that works for you as each body reacts differently

I had hot flashes, dizziness, fatigue and a cycle that had been going for six weeks when I began taking this. After a week the cycle ended and I began feeling better. I checked with a pharmacist prior to trying it. He recommended taking it for 60 days and I am almost done. I haven't had hot flashes except one or two and they were very mild, plus only one dizzy spell. I am in perimenopause myself. Worth trying for sure. I am happy with results.

Was having severe mood swings and started taking 40 mg. My husband noticed an immediate change in just a couple days. Tried the hormone patch, didn't do anything and is $200 a month. Gonna stick with Black Cohosh. My OB/GYN said I can increase the dose if needed. I love it.

I started with 40mg at night 2 weeks ago and have already noticed a huge difference. Hot flashes were every night every hour and a half and same during the day. Not only do I sleep better, I wake up feeling better and have more energy. The flashes during the day are a lot less and only once a night. Again it's only been 2 weeks. I'll ask my Dr. her opinion before I increase the dose that is if I still a need to.

Experienced hot flashes and headache associated with menopause. Black Cohosh, with other supplements, stopped hot flashes and headache. I took them for two months and then stopped because symptoms stopped. Have not needed anything for a year. I will use again if symptoms recur.

I started taking 540MG for 3 days, and I started having weird headaches, I stopped immediately. I am going to let pass some weeks and having again to see if the headaches are caused by this herb.

I tried both magnesium and sage, both touted as remedies for hot flashes, neither did anything at all. But within 4 days of me trying Black Cohosh, my hot flashes began to lessen. Would not be without it, best thing I ever bought. Oh and it lightens your mood as well. Highly recommend buying it. Read More Read Less

I have been going through the menopause for three years now. Black Cohosh is the only thing that stops me from hot flushes, or rather, being soaked from head to foot. It alleviates my mood swings. It is fabulous.

I suffer from A-typical migraines and nothing worked. I started taking the 540mg 3 times a day and no more headaches. I'm not sure how safe it is to take this much, but it's worth it not to be in pain 4+ days a month.

I took this for about 18 mos. for menopause issues. While it took away my hot flashes, my liver enzymes were elevated for a long while afterwards.

I started having very bad hot flashes about a month ago. Waking up 6 to 8 times a night drenched in sweat. Throughout the day I was having mild to severe hot flashes throughout the day approximately every hour or more. I started taking 80 mg twice daily. Spring Valley Brand at Walmart 40 mg tablets. Within 3 days they lightened up and kept getting better...by the end of 1 week they have completely gone away, with the exception of an occasional one throughout the day !!!! It has been such a relief!! I never write reviews, but felt so strongly about the relief I have had, I felt I should. I've had such relief so quickly, I may lower my dose to 40 mg twice daily. If this works I will post my results. Also, I have not noticed any side affects at all. I go to the dr. in 3 days and will ask what his opinion is on this and if a liver enzyme test needs to be done. If so I will post those results as well. Read More Read Less

I started having hot flashes, only at night, several times a night. After playing around with how much to take and when to take it, I found what works for me. I take four 40 mg tablets a day. One in the morning, noon, afternoon and before bedtime. I've not had any more hot flash symptoms and sleep through the night again.
