I am a 76 year old male with BPH. I began taking beta-sitosterol -1000mg daily about 2 months ago and the results are very good - fewer bathroom visits and much less discomfort overall.

Nighttime trips to the bathroom are down from 3 or 4 to once or none at all! I looked up the ingredients in Super Beta Prostate, and fond that it's MUCH less expensive (and just as effective) to take the same supplements - Beta Sitosterol, Selenium, Zinc

I use Antiiva (Hampshire Labs) to treat nocturia. I have reduced my need for night time urination from 3 or 4 times per night to 1 or none.

definitely caused ed after three weeks of use. Onset was sudden.

Take 2x 900 mg per day along with Zetia to lower Chlesterol. In 6 mo. my ttl chol/hdl has gone down from 5.6 to 3.7 (The reference range is 3.2-5.0). It works.

Using a product with beta sitosterol has produced the best result of all OTC prostate products I've tried. One question though . . .beta sitosterol blocks the same enzyme that Proscar and Avodarts blocks yet the claim is that it doesn't shrink the prostate. Why? Dose not high enough or just not tested enough to know for sure?

I started using this to control my urination at night as I was getting up 3 or 4 times a night . Now I sleep all night. There are other benefits as well, Hair is actually getting thicker for some reason among others.

I have been taking Mega Beta Sitosterol for two months now and my cholesterol numbers have worsened dramatically. When I was taking prescription Welchol my numbers dropped by 80 points, now that I switched to MBS they have skyrocketed back up to where they were. I find it to be useless for my cholesterol troubles.

Decrease in urine flow blockage and Increased flow. Fewer nightly urinations.

Was using Prostata for 15 yrs & slowly losing the battle. Now on Swanson High Potency Beta-Sitosterol taking dbl (2) the suggested qty daily (1). Sure can tell a big difference.

I have been taking meta-sitosterol for a month and my blood pressure has shot skyward. I am an adamant walker, biker, and geocacher so it's not like I am sitting around. I will have to wait for my next blood test if I can handle the high blood pressure til then.

This stuff really works...for me, at least. I've had urinary retention problems (suppose I have BPH) and started taking 375mg per day. I swear by it...but it took all of 3 to 4 weeks regimen to finally feel the results ( I was peeing freely and had a much larger capacity before I had to wee sometimes for 6 hours...and I drink coffee all day/all night. But, I give it a low rating for it's ease of use - It's a horse pill and no fun to swallow ( even after breaking it in half ) and it's non-water soluble...someone needs to make a better form of it. Anyway, stay away from that pharmaceutical stuff ie Flomax/Rapiflo - although they may get the flow going, you'll feel like your'e becoming Caitlyn Jenner ! again, Stay away from the pharmaceutical ! It is slow castration and nobody out there is telling you the truth..so I will. Beta-sitosterol works, by god ! Try it. It's cheap.But you have to stick to the regimen.Read More Read Less

I have been taking 800mg of Beta Sitosterol for the past 3 months. (2 capsules of 400mg each in the morning). I have frequent urination, particularly at night. The first 2 weeks I took this supplement, it worked like a miracle. But then, a return of the symptoms, and no improvement ever since. I am continuing to take it in the hopes that continued use will increase the effectiveness. I will start taking it 400 mg twice a day to see if that helps....

Have taken Betasitosterol for about one year..375 mg TID....easier urination...no urgency...no problem in starting a stream..highly recommend...

I was taking Avodart for years for prostatic enlargement. It lowered my psa but both day and night frequency did not change. Stopped taking it and switched to beta sitosterol about 6 months ago. Frequency dropped by 50% quite quickly. Works well for me!

Currently taking Flomax also, and doctor suggested Avodart in addition. I chose to use beta sitosterol instead (with his permission). It does seem to improve the effectiveness of treatment with Flomax alone. I am currently taking 120 mg beta sitosterol b.i.d.

It's beginning to work but I await further usage for final results!!
