I was taking Flomax, an Rx and wanted to get on something non-perscrip. I have been using the Beta Sitosterol for over a year now and am very pleased. No more night trips to the bathroom. Also, no undesired side effects.

After a month of taking this, my BPH symptoms have improved. Stronger urination most of the time, and less urgency to go, especially when sleeping. No side effects that I can perceive. This is the main ingredient in saw palmetto, except it has much more. Take this in place of saw palmetto.

When you look at the side effects for the two primary treatments, especially the new FDA warning regarding 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor and prostate cancer, and the whopping cost of Cialis if your insurance won't pay for it the beta-sitosterol is a go-to. It works great for me, some 90% of the symptoms are gone and as long as I stay with it I generally sleep thru the night and have very few other problems. I cannot risk the side effects of the two major drug families used, the potential liability if I were to have an accident while on them, be they the cause or not, is too great. I'll stay with the beta until it doesn't work or pharma comes up with a drug whose side effects don't rival the problems of the condition itself. Read More Read Less

I have taken Swansons prostate esentials plus,, for about 3 months.it contains most of the items on the webMd list - stinging nettles, saw pameto, korean ginsengroot, pgeum bark,pumpkinsee,glycine,l-ananine,l-glutaminacid, beta sitosterol 20mg, lycopene, zinc, slelenium ! but,, my PSA went up anyway -age68 - from 3.75 to 4.06 with 3.9 supposedly my refernce point? so either the suppliment wasnt strong enough or there is little noticeable change.

After a month of 113 mg twice daily, getting up at night has gone from 3-4 trips to 1-0 trips to urinate. Side effects: flatulence, some ED effects, sounder sleep patterns. Flowmax side effects were worse than the malady: headache, nasal congestion, chest constriction with loss of endurance, dry mouth, insomnia, nightmares, muscle soreness. Alfuzosin had significant side-effects also: severe constipation, headache

Have been taking different products for prostate enlargment for many years. Am now 69 years old and have been revived in my sex life by the use of Beta-Sitosterol. I read about Prosta-New containing beta-sitosterol and gave it a try. With its use, I was awakened to go pee less, and was having early morning erections that had discontinued while taking other products. I ran out of Prosta-New and wet back to the other products in order to use them up. I started back to being awakened 2 to 3 times a night to go pee and the early morning erections discontinued, so I placed another order for Prosta-New and after 10 days started being awakened only 1 time to go pee and the early morning erections returned. During sex, my erections are harder than they were while using the other products.Read More Read Less

I took the Super Beta Prostate product for a month. It helped to increase urination flow rate, but it made my knees ache, so I stopped.
