My blood pressure was as high as 157/103. After one month of drinking hibiscus tea; sometimes combined with olive leaf, ginger, hawthorn, and epimedium; my blood pressure is normal, 120/80.

It reversed what it was intended to do. Blood Pressure went up, anxious, nervous, canâ??t sleep. Does it affect anyone else like that?

We constantly struggled with high cholesterol until we tried Fish Oil supplement called Cardio Defense by Iceland Health that contains Hibiscus as well as other herbs such as Hawthorn. Our last blood test results finally showed a definite improvement in our cholesterol numbers. My wife still has a struggle with triglycerides but her cholesterol numbers are going down and her ratio is improving dramatically . It seems to enhance the cholesterol lowering effect of statins,(just my own opinion). If it keeps working as it did the last 3 months We hope we can decrease our statin dosages.I think that will be a good thing. Read More Read Less

Lowers blood pressure effectively without prescription. I drink the tea some days but the 1,000mg supplements are easier. I don't like steeping a tea bag 3 times a day. But It's better than using drugs and having to worry about hair loss, kidney failure or diabetes from regular HBP meds. At this point I'm willing to try anything than taking HBP meds.

3 cups of hibiscus tea/day lowers my high blood pressure to normal levels. No need to buy supplements when home grown will do. The daily brewing is the pain and I now carry a thermos to make it easier

Never noticed a problem with Hibiscus until I had a Hibiscus wine. Felt an odd rush as it went down. Less than two days later had a bronchitis attack that my doctor said was probably a reaction to the hibiscus. Took over two weeks to get over the reactive bronchitis attack. I've had herbal teas many times with no noticeable side effects, but now I'm leery of them.

Without health coverage for a period of time due to unemployment, I had to search for alternatives and came across ample evidence (online) that many, many folks report respectable decreases in blood pressure by drinking two glasses of Hibiscus Tea per day. Add me to the list of people reporting this success! I steep 5 bags of the tea in two cups of hot water. Remove the tea bags after a half hour (I squeeze the bags a bit), add 4 packets of stevia and a small bit of lemon juice. Drink hot or pour over ice and you're set. I actually make several batches ahead of time and refrigerate in glass pitchers so I can drink it undiluted and well chilled (I reside in an area with a year around warm climate). It is delicious, refreshing and the noticeable drop in my blood pressure means I don't need medicine to deal with my hyper tension which is now a thing of the past. I buy the Hibiscus tea online and in bulk from a prominent tea marketing company. I encourage everyone to try this if you are battling HBP. AlohaRead More Read Less

I have tried drinking looseleaf hibiscus tea. I used to drink very diluted hibiscus and saw little effects, but recently tried to concentrate the tea and see a dramatic improvement in the systolic blood pressure --15 points. my diastolic has not improved.

My friends bring me dried hibiscus flowers from Sudan and I make tea and drink it during the day. It is sour,so I add cranberry or apple juice for sweetness.I take prescription medication ,but sometimes my blood pressure goes out of control and hibiscus in such cases is very helpfull,as well as hawthorn berries and fresh garlic.

Well this product worked wonderful for constipation. However, I tried it because I was pregnant and very constipated. But I miscarried 4 months after drinking it. I never drank it with my previous 3 children born very smart and healthy because I never had been constipated. But I really don't recommend drink if pregnant. I wish I did my research on this drink before I lost my baby. My children and I took it pretty hard, husband felt bad for me but didn't take it to heart like I did. Please pregnant women becareful out there. Don't test this especially if you bleed and stomach cramps, your just asking for it. Selma, CARead More Read Less

After being knowing I had HBP I wanted yo know why what caused it I had lived quite a while without it.Seems most people accept they now Doc give so it will go away. But one thing Ive noticed many doctors are not used to people wanting to know why?My play Mom died of high blood pressure something like 289/over I dont know I was eight years and the medical doctors didnt know how to lower her pressure this was in 1947.This may sound unbelievable. they cut her underarms to lower her pressure. But Doctors like Jethro Kross knew back in the 1938. So should we have so much faith in doctors.By the she was dead in less than a week,I think these guys get paid a lot of to practice.most get paid nothing to practice.Amazingly my doctor told me to go on a fruit diet for a week. Now I guess that I wasted a lot of space but I just had to say that,Ive drinking the tea about 3 weeksalso drinking red clover tea I know my pressure is but not perfect yet as I read I know it takes a life style change but you must be willing to change. I love hibiscus tea. I got the unexpected benefit of a lower fasting blood sugar level the last couple of days after the tea steeped for a couple of hours. Not sure if it will last. Time will tell.

Hi, I have just started taking Hibiscus for about a week and already my blood pressure is lower from 145/95 to 127/88. I am going to switch to a pill form as I find I can't keep up with drinking all the tea. "pee"

Treatment was conducted by consuming tea made out of the natural (redish) flower...it tastes delicious and very effective. Recipes can be found online.

Hibiscus tea contains a chemical which acts like an ACE inhibitor. This means people with bradycardia should stay away from it. It threw my blood pressure down to 118/52, which is dangerously low, when combined with weight loss and brady. Beware!
