I take Smooth Move tea and am very happy with the treatment. I've tried every prescription and non-prescription medicine to help with severe constipation and this is by far the most effective and gentlest. It doesn't make me bloated nor give me sharp cramps like so many laxatives. Some tips: 1. Take at night to produce bowel movement first thing in morning. Be prepared for several movements thro...

I started drinking senna tea for the relief of constipation which began towards the end of my junior year abroad in Italy. It initially helped but then my constipation got worse so I started drinking more tea, and at first it helped. But then it got worse again and this spiraling pattern repeated itself again and again. My doctor never said anything about senna tea only being a short term treat...

chronic constipation... I use this in a tea called "smooth move" and it works well. I have read the warnings and will not take very often. Usual laxatives did not work. Did not want to use a prescription medication --

I have tried every over the counter laxative plus an other process I read about to help overcome my problem with constipation. Then I read about Senna. It has been a God sent. However, in this information offered, we are informed that it is for temporary use only. Over use can cause problems with the liver, etc. So I am restricting my cup of senna tea to a cup of senna before bedtime only 3 times a week. I also found a recipe for senna fruit paste made with senna tea, figs, raisins and prunes honey and lemon. It is delicious and not detrimental to the liver. I could really do a commercial on this product. Read More Read Less

In 2004, I was in a bad car accident that left me having to use pain killers pretty much for the rest of my life. Recently, i had my 50 yr old colonoscopy. The doctor asked me how long I had taken Senna. I said "every day since March of 2005". His eves got huge..and sais "we need to try something else". He prescribed Flax seeds. Told me to sprinkle them on whatever I was eating..and should help with the constipation. After 4 days of using the flax seeds, i was not passing or having any BM. For fear of becoming constipated to the point of a Dr.'s visit, i went back to the Senna. I went back to the doctor that did my colonoscopy and told him the results. He advised that I keep trying. Said something about senna turning my colon black...but didnt say whether that was a bad or good thing??? I really nned to know if its time to find something else. I did try prunes..in fact, I love prunes..but they are so expensive. Can a doctor write a Rx for prunes? Or should I ask..will insurance cover the cost of the prunes? Dont mean to sound desparate, but I dont want my colon turning black..and I want to try and stop all the long term side effects that I may experience if I dont stop using Senna. Please help??Read More Read Less

My colon is bound by scar tissue and this causes pain and distention caused by sluggish movement of stool through intestines. This product is effective and more gentle with less side effects than prescription I was taking. The product is called Prunelax.
